Crafting Books?

Unread post by realayer »

In my adventures, I have collected some books containing crafting recipes. Are they of any use?

That's sad :(

When will the crafting system implemented? Will the books be useful after the implementation?

The enchanting system may or may not utilise recipe books, and unlikely those present in the loot tables already as they would all have to be rewritten etc.

Oh so there's only enchanting system but no crafting system, like crafting of non-enchanted armor/weapon :?:

As far as I am aware, that's right. Rasael's framework enchanting system is in-game (just not available outside of QC) but I am not aware of any non-magical item crafting system in the works (eg. to make mithral full plate or darksteel weapons, etc).

I cannot condone a course of action that will lead us to war. :P

Bring your unwanted recipe books to Candlekeep when there are PCs there, which is often. Someone will offer a few coins (more than NPC merchants) and some RP for them!

Yea that will be a great rp opportunity and that's right in my character's personality to share the knowledge within books

Oh how about the alchemy recipe books? Will the alchemy brewing system utilize them?

What alchemy brewing system?

There is a prc named Master Alchemist. You can craft elixirs with it. Which means you can brew spells higher than level 3. I think the cap is 7.

You could always dump them all off on a seaker of candlekeep.. Make a new friend or perhaps an enemy by loading them down with work.

Btw I was joking about the burning. If you can't find a RP use for them, seriously sell them to Candlekeep's Librarian Demetrius. He'll pay more for scrolls and books than everywhere else on the server.
