Current implementaion of Appraise Feature

So far, in this most current implementation, all items appear to my characters as male dwarfs. Also, a large bearded frost giant appeared to be a "male or female person..."

I'm sorry? This gold ring looks like a dwarf and a beard taller than some gnomes doesn't indicate "male?"

What is the intent here? Perhaps if I/we knew more about what the goals for this feature are we could provide some more constructive feedback, because as it is now it just seems borked and I don't know how to provide any information that might help.
