At dawn, a little procession makes its way from Pathfinder's Hall to the docks. At its head is Ameris, burdened down by a number of large bags, a bittersweet expression as he looks to the fore, but his glances back to his family are filled with warm smiles. Behind, follows Telia, with the couple's wards Amanda and Timmy each holding one of her hands. Telia would be looking cheerful and smiling. She carries no bags. The children would have been dressed up by Telia, wearing sailor hats. As would Silvyr, the round ginger tabby cat that trots along at Telia's heels. Sylvi brings up the rear, with a moderate amount of bags.
Passing through the bustling streets, the little party can be seen bidding farewell to any whose paths they cross that they know. The group arrive at the berth of a seaworthy looking trading ship named the Wandering Seeker, known to be captained by the Janis Galler; the same who had arrived in the city in pursuit of the serial killer known as the Barber.
At the gangplank stands the bearded figure of Alexander Marshall, a fact met with surprise by the travelers. Ameris puts down his bags and steps fowards, and after some quiet words the two men clasp hands, smiling warmly. Telia looks at Alexander for a moment before she hugs the man, an expression of relief and appreciation on her face; and the children are introduced to him, Alexander greeting them with warmth.
Soon enough the scene is broken up by Captain Galler calling from the gunwhale, and the group board the ship; Ameris' burden in bags shared by the knight. After the men stow the bags and greetings are done, Telia jokes about that they might see sea lions and begins to tell an outrageous story to the children about King Strohm of Tethyr falling in love with a female sea lioness. This might be done on purpose, to lighten the mood of the men, especially Ameris the Tethyrian patriot. It works, as despite his protestations regarding the inaccuracy of the tale, Ameris is smiling as the ship casts off, and his glances back to the city are filled with warmth.
The Wandering Seeker leaves Baldur's Gate's harbour and sails down the Chionthar, before heading south.
