Rumour has it that a score or more of Flaming Fist and city watch descend upon Pathfinders Hall, amidst rumours that the leader of the Crimson Blades insurrectionist group, Vance Highmoore, had somehow taken refuge there. The Fist intended to execute him for treason and murder.

A group of Pathfinders, and a comrade, had just returned from an expedition and interceded with the criminal.

After some time locked in the office with him, he was brought out and handed over to the Flaming Fist. From there, he was taken to the Palace District and beheaded swiftly and publicly by Duke Eltan himself. It is thought this will have broken the back of the Crimson Blades' plans for insurrection.

It is rumoured that Vance and the Crimson Blades were former Flaming Fist soldiers who had born the brunt of an Amnian assault in Beregost. Furthermore, it is rumoured that their families were slain in the fighting, and that a Priest of Mask amongst the Amnians had at one point raised the slain civilians as undead to overrun a Flaming Fist position, a horrific act that drove Vance half mad and made the Crimson Blades blame the Dukes for being abandoned.

Another rumour spreads, that a wererat dominated gang known as the Fire Knives, which had recently begun to move into the city once more during this period of economic distress, has been the subject of a bloody massacre in the depths far below the city. Rumour also spreads that the true power behind the gang, a Priest of Mask, also met his end. Just deserts, it is said, for crimes he committed against holy men, the innocent people of the city - and the families of the Crimson Blade.

Rumor spreads throughout Baldur's Gate that a golden eyed tiefling stormed out of the Pathfinder's Hall earlier today. Shortly before the front door was thrown open with nearly enough force to rip it off the wall, there was a brief shout and a large crash, like splintering wood.

Rising early, while it is still dark, he is seen leaving Pathfinders Hall and going for a run in the quiet, predawn streets, doing several laps of the main square in the east gate. These first few days he returns home breathless, although determined.
Ameris' daily routine of running seems to have come to an end, since the explosion at his recent sermon. Indeed, the last day or so has seen him absent from Pathfinder's Hall.

A number of people congregate on Pathfinder's Hall, seemingly prepared for something of danger. Ameris departs, heading for the docks district, and entering a cellar underneath a building ruined by the war.

After some time the remainder of the group follows on. They linger for a while some distance from the ruined building, before entering the place in a rush, ready for battle.

Some time later, the group (together with Ameris) is seen leaving the cellar and heading back to Pathfinders Hall. A strange, mishapen body is carried with them; and a man and two children are escorted out as well.

At dawn, a little procession makes its way from Pathfinder's Hall to the docks. At its head is Ameris, burdened down by a number of large bags, a bittersweet expression as he looks to the fore, but his glances back to his family are filled with warm smiles. Behind, follows Telia, with the couple's wards Amanda and Timmy each holding one of her hands. Telia would be looking cheerful and smiling. She carries no bags. The children would have been dressed up by Telia, wearing sailor hats. As would Silvyr, the round ginger tabby cat that trots along at Telia's heels. Sylvi brings up the rear, with a moderate amount of bags.

Passing through the bustling streets, the little party can be seen bidding farewell to any whose paths they cross that they know. The group arrive at the berth of a seaworthy looking trading ship named the Wandering Seeker, known to be captained by the Janis Galler; the same who had arrived in the city in pursuit of the serial killer known as the Barber.

At the gangplank stands the bearded figure of Alexander Marshall, a fact met with surprise by the travelers. Ameris puts down his bags and steps fowards, and after some quiet words the two men clasp hands, smiling warmly. Telia looks at Alexander for a moment before she hugs the man, an expression of relief and appreciation on her face; and the children are introduced to him, Alexander greeting them with warmth.

Soon enough the scene is broken up by Captain Galler calling from the gunwhale, and the group board the ship; Ameris' burden in bags shared by the knight. After the men stow the bags and greetings are done, Telia jokes about that they might see sea lions and begins to tell an outrageous story to the children about King Strohm of Tethyr falling in love with a female sea lioness. This might be done on purpose, to lighten the mood of the men, especially Ameris the Tethyrian patriot. It works, as despite his protestations regarding the inaccuracy of the tale, Ameris is smiling as the ship casts off, and his glances back to the city are filled with warmth.

The Wandering Seeker leaves Baldur's Gate's harbour and sails down the Chionthar, before heading south.

*A large amount of corn, enough to feed around 300 people, has been left outside the Pathfinders hall. It is covered in flax cloth, which is bound together firmly by some rope all the way around it to hold it together and safekeep its contents. Under the rope a note is tugged in under it and made visible to see. On the note it simply states that it belongs to the Pathfinders Hall. Nothing more is written.*

A stark white feather can be seen openly twirled in gloved fingers before a man in holy armor and a brilliant golden cloak steps inside the nearby Pathfinder's Hall.

His body language moves in a way to suggest he is in a hurried state of motion and he closes the door almost too quickly behind of himself.

Some time after, an armoured man bearing the iconography of Ilmater steps out of the Hall. After a few steps, he pauses, glancing towards the east gate and where Sister Jeana stands. His gaze darkens, and his lips twitch.

The man taps his holy symbol, dipping his head a moment. When he walks again, towards the Temple of Ilmater, his face is a mask of calm.

Having received the letter during his next visit to Pathfinder Hall's lobby, Zahven quickly read the letter, thanks the Tyran guard, and departs.

He has been seen about the city, especially outside of the East Gate, but no further contact is made at this time.

Planehopper wrote:Zahven Thruel, an Archmage formerly well-known about the city has been seen regularly, once again, after having been gone for a little over a year on a planned trip to Memnon in Calimshan. He is said to have found work for nearly a dozen adventurers, and has led various bands into nearby dungeons and ruins. The goals of these forays is less clear.

It is further rumored that Zahven has been making pointed questions about The Order of Lions and it's lack of help for these new adventurers, and what a travesty it is that such an organization is failing to live up to its own ideals. Those that recall the founding of the Order of Lion's and building of the associated Pathfinder Hall will recall that Zahven Thruel, along with Jarresh Stillwater, Aelcar Lightbringer, and Marigold Winters, was among the founders and key financiers of the construction.
