Re: White Mask Theater Open Stage Night!
The Open Stage was a smashing success Herran announces. We had many entertainers, with a wide variety for the show. Songs, poems and tales.
The winners of the prize was enhanced by Merlara, a follower of Oghma, to show her support of the arts. I say winners, because there was a tie, between Telia and Aiden who both ended up donating their winnings to the war efforts.
Thank you all for being there, and i pray you felt as much joy watching and participating as we did opening the Theater to you.
May the Lady of Joy lighten your heart and put a rhythm in your step.

Herran scribbles out a few signs to post around Baldurs Gate
Open Stage Night the end of this tenday.
(Sunday 12/ 13/ 15 @ 1 PM EST - 1800 forum clock)
The theme of the Open Stage will be in honor of those who are even now sacrificing so much, so that we may continue to live without fear of those who try and take not just our homes, but, our very lives.

copies of the flyers are hand carried by Herran to the dukes, the Fist headquarters, the Templars of the Dawnlord and each faction of those aligned with the war council.(Sunday 12/ 13/ 15 @ 1 PM EST - 1800 forum clock)

Re: White Mask Theater Open Stage Night!
*Terri would stand up on the stage and present her poem to any who would still be there*
The title of this is "Unsung Heros"
*she would speak in a soft and melodramatic voice*
Toiling under the sun baked land they sweat;
Who are these people? what drives them to sacrifice so much of themselves day in and day out for 16 hours in a day?
If asked they just shrug and say it makes them happy to do so;
These same people, holes in there clothing, belly grumbling in hunger.
Wind whipping at their skin that is hardened like sand from the elements;
Who are these people? Every morning without fail they take nets that they spent hours patching to once again spread out across the waters.
Happy? They would not change a thing about there life. Slim people who make coppers on fish that feed kings and queens
These same people, lost at sea from unexpected storms.
"Come get your Essential supplies here!" Voice hoarse from multiple announcements;
Who are these people? They sell fish and farm foods, constantly on the move as the timer ticks and they see there perishables wilting from father times clock.
Happy? That depends. They certainly do not appear so while in performance of this function, but when they put their sales masks aside at night they are certainly content as they are welcomed by a family that is fed by his or her efforts.
These same people. Ignored when there services are not required.
"Yes M'lord or lady." Uttered with great respect.
Who are these people? Even when called stupid, Lazy, or incompetent they serve. Long hours with no thought ever given to there health they tend to the ruling and wealthy families. Without them Nothing could be accomplished. What drives them to serve?
Are they happy? This is completely unknown as there very existence requires them to go unnoticed in the performance of their duty.
These same people. Ghosts of society.
*she would speak after* This is of course incomplete. If I could sing well enough I would sing them a song. Perhaps someone would do me the honor? *she would curtsy then and step down from the stage*

Re: White Mask Theater Open Stage Night!
*Aidan would show up to find what few had gathered and see Terri on stage smiling at her performance having heard it the night before. Clapping loudly he would then take his place after her, and recite his own poem prepared just for the White Mask, to whoever was left to hear*
*He stands there looking down at his hands in the stage lights. Clenching them in fists, releasing, and turning them over to see both sides. Holds them up for others to view, then looks at them once more as he lowers them*
My hands, had I ever thought to look at them before? These hands are strong.
They've carried weapon and shield to battle, they've moved boulders, chopped down trees.
These hands have built ships, sailed them, and fought through long nights of storm.
But they are hardly hands to idolize. They've spilled blood, they've been used for wrong.
They're callused and sometimes cold.
To another set of hands I recall... frail and liver spotted. I watched then, feeble as they were,
hand me a tart pulled from a window sill. She was fond of baking and baked
a great many things, however, these were made especially for me. Cherry filled
bites of delicate flaking crust, sugar glazed and walnut topped.
These weren't a mere bake good, they weren't something put on a shelf and left to sell to
a traveler who'd never tasted the local delicacies. These were a recipe of love. Made by a
woman that spent her life knowing the recipe by heart. These were made by a grandmother
who loved me regardless of the man I had become, in spite of any wrong done.
Her smile pursued, her laughter, her love.
Our grandmothers hold love for us that is unabashed. It can not be waned, or fettered by our
failures and short comings. Regardless of our faults. A visit with them is all they request.
A visit to a place that reminds us of childhoods and spring, of daytime flowers and fields,
of nighttime fireflies. Most of all, of the things that they have made with their hands.
These ruthless wizards of the kitchen. With cupboards full of spell components like flour,
cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg. Concocting potions and eatable traps meant to lure a grandchild
in and sneak upon them with dote filled aspirations. "Harmless?" shrieks your
parents. As their child gorges on the most sinister of dishes that were ever confected.
But the smiles pursue, the laughter, the love.
She picked those cherries herself, my grandmother. It would do me little good to exhaust a list of the
things our grandmothers do that make them so special. But the greatest lesson to take from our
grandmothers, is how to love, how to forgive, and how best to progress as a society. Not blind,
not ignorant, but tireless in an endeavor to be a positive influence in the lives of those around us.
Today I offer a breadcrumb of honor compared to a thousand year feast of grandmotherly baking.
To a hero if only to her family, for all the hours spent preparing food if only for a thank you,
if only for a reminder at how we couldn't get on without her. A grandmother's only fault? seeking
to remain relevant. My grandmothers hands were feeble, but they were capable of great magic.
and when reminded of her... the smiles pursue.. the laughter... the love.

Herran places a large note in the places where Open Stage Night posters are normally placed.
We do ask for your patience as our Open Stage Nights are temporarily placed on hold.
The White Mask Theater has currently begun work on production of a play "Thistle".
We will update as progress continues, but, look forward to entertaining you all with what we feel is a play of tragedy and comedy in their fullest.
May the Lady of Joy continue to lighten your hearts.

Re: White Mask Theater Open Stage Night!
After a large boxed delivery arrives at the White Mask Theatre, seemingly from the printing houses. This is later confirmed when workers begin their duties hanging posters around the city, and others spreading word of a "Wonderful night of song and dance! Plen'y of gold too!".

Would be lovely to get everyone together for some role play!
The theme as suggested is the sea - so, feel free to go nuts.

Again posters are hung out in all public places of the Gate. But this time someone else puts hand on this herself and helps - Freya. Where has the good girl and cautious young priest gone? In such moments she seems more like an artist, free and open to the fine arts. Spreading word and writing about the next open stage night. A little autograph in one corner shoes, she has outlined and painted this poster herself.
Rumours about old and famous, also new and promising talents are spreading...who might show their arts this time?
//OOC: Sunday 26 March at 6 PM GMT0/ 7 PM cet.

Would be nice to see as many as possible there.
The theme birds - explains itself on the poster.

*notes are pinned to the posters where ever they are still hung*
The open stage went on without a hitch and seemed to be thoroughly enjoyed by those who attended. Performances were given by Freya, Luke, Nixidea, a dueat by Herran and Freya, Guide Kenan and Wesmile.
The prize of ten bags was given to Guide Keenan for her dedication to Moreneth.
Brows were raised and a wide applause given, when Herran asked Freya for permission to officially court her which she joyfully gave.
Thank you all for coming to enjoy our show ... we pray that you will join us again for future presentations.
