Strep Throat

Soooo, I just learned I have strep throat. T_T anyone have any experience with this? I am on antibiotics, but any thing to help make swallowing easier or at least sooth the throat?
Will I find the light. Or be swallowed by Darkness. I sense hope. But foresee harm. Will I know the blade. Taste the blood. I see a figure. I see a shadow...I see myself

Cold or warm drinks helps numb the throat. Soup as well.

I hear a honey and whiskey shot is pretty good for what ails ya......Lots of honey and a bit o whiskey often! ;)

For the sake of others quarantine yourself from interpersonal contact for at least the first 24 hours of your antibiotic treatment. Wash your hands as often as you can.

Natural remedies to help with the inflammation include Manuka honey mixed with lemon juice, whiskey (or any strong spirit in general, vodka/sake would work fine) or cinnamon. Generally the more expensive the manuka, the stronger its antibacterial qualities.

Also strongly advise you isolate your toothbrush from everyone else's and discard it once your treatment is finished.

Piece of cake, gotten it a couple times on my life. Rest up, lots of fluids, salt water gargle, and antibiotics. You be good in a couple days.. Like 4-5ish.

My go to as well, add in pedialite for electrolytes since your general nutrition will likely be low and avoiding dehydration.

Another recommendation for salt water gargle, but warm the water up first.

As a mother of 3 kids, these recommendations are great. Especially the warm salt water gargle it is one of the best. The salt is a natural analgesic and antiseptic you'll be glad you did it.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone :).

The salt water gargle really helped. And now that my antibiotics have kicked in, I'm feeling a lot better.

If it comes back again, like mine did (About 6x now) See an ent about getting those tonsils removed. :D It's an outpatient surgery now so not too bad.
