I tend to lean towards the idea that if we have a deity flagged as "selectable" on our list, then we're acknowledging that God as applicable to our server canon regardless of the timeline.

If the deities that should not be able to be selected can be removed from the list, then this would be a good approach.

You can pick the RK, Clerics can gain domains from her, so logically the RK must have already ascended to her own divinity in our timeline.

Like their Rashemi kin, some Gurs possessed "the Sight", an unreliable gift for glimpses of the past and snatches of history.

It's worth noting that many gods have also canonically "faked it."

For example, when Ibrandul is killed by Shar in the Underdark beneath Waterdeep during the Time of Troubles, Shar masquerades as the dead deity for a while, unbeknownst to his followers.

So even if a god was "out of commission" or "dead," in theory any god who's got similar portfolios or who has taken over their portfolios can step in to fulfill the faithful's prayers.

Llira also does it for Waukeen, I believe, when Waukeen briefly gets taken captive off Toril during the Time of Troubles.

So even if the hardliners feel like Savras should never ever be granting prayers, it could always be Azuth just answering his prayers.
