Personally, I would love to see even no EB and lacking magic, items of all the materials in a store somewhere.

In my day dag gum it, if we wanted an item over +3, we had had to go out and kill somthing that owned that item!

These molly coddled adventurers today with their auction houses and fancy pants merchants!

You cant buy them items, they are priceless! You dont pay for this kind of thing you earn them - with hard work! You whippersnappers dont even know what that means!

Why back in my day when ya kilt yerself a dragon -you would slice open its stomach and root through its guts just in the small chance it swallowed some gems or items. And we would get to that dragon in the winter in our bear feet- hoping that dragon had the dodge boots we were looking for - and we went through that dungeon up hill both ways - before cutting them boots out its stomach!!

Thats the way we did it, and dang blanged it, we liked it that way!!!

This new generations wanting everything the easy way- yet never truly appreciating what they already have!

Makes me Sick!

I am a fan and I am not, thus I voted other.

I love the idea of +4 basics, as it be great to get +4 padded armor right now. But once I bought it, there's nothing else for me to buy till I can get to that epic demon guy which I do not see happening any time soon.

My issues are small but I feel strong.

First, muleing. You all took away level requirements on items so now an experienced wealthy player takes gear and gold from his super toon that doesn't need it and drops it for his/her brand new toon. She then houses everything and runs over lower level content making the game less fun for true newbs who look for the party and game growth play of a new server. I know this from being new. Sometimes thing where more fun when there was a less OP player with you.

Second. I rather see more detailed fleshed out +3 and +2 gear before generics. An extra +1 is great in the game but tricks on items are more fun. Then again as my main is a rogue, tricks on items are paramount to being more on power curve with other classes.

Third. I do feel +4 and higher really should be dm treasures only, unless they are opening +5 to dms, but I haven't heard they drop though. Which is a shame that we have epic wizards casting epic spells but do fighters not have +5 swords? or even true epic blades at +6

Which brings me to rogue kits. Thieves tools that are not one time use, and climbing, stealth and trick kits. Sort of thing your PNP dm teases you for not having. I would though like them at certain level requirements by class though =P.

Where would you put this +4 shop and why doesn't it get robbed?

In faerun, magic item shops are rare. Only the most powerful cities have them and they are fortresses. I also do not recall anywhere in the lore of places selling such items. In fact it does state in the books its nearly impossible to sell enchanted blades as it could bankrupt a place. That often powerful magic items are either only traded or sold for coppers for every gold they are wort. 1 gold for every 10. aka ten percent market.

Hey Mallore or, the +4 shop exists already on the demon guy in hell. This would basically expand his inventory or at some point put something similar in so that after you go through "epic trials" you could buy basic +4 gear. There was also talk of placing a random roaming merchant in that could potentially sell these items. Nothing set in stone, just a question conceptually.
Another thing to remember, +4 gear isn't always the best option, there are lots of +3 gear w/goodies that are better, specially for a HiPSer who needs hide/ms ranks. This would mostly benefit pure fighter types.
DM staff do not give out +5 gear as its caster only for balance reasons. Just a FYI.

Oh I understand. Im a big fan of +3 with goodies, and would love to just see more! =).

RP wise it seams a bit odd to be buying stuff from a Demon, but that maybe just me.

If I ever get to the said Demon, it be cool to get +4 basics. but I suspect they wouldnt be to useful at that point. Kinda late for the need as +3 with toys is better in most cases.

Though I know this is off topic, doesn't not allowing a toon access to +5 underpower them compared to caster classes... maybe why i see so many casters? I am talking pure no magic classes what so ever. Take myself, how would a +5 rapier be a balance issue when its very core of the game.... and a caster could one shot me anyways. was just tossing in my two coppers and think you all do a wonderful job. and I totally do not expect an answer as to not throw off topic! =)
