Combat Focus: latest iteration explanation request
Hello,
A July 2016 update states: "Combat Focus: triggers per encounter."
Can someone who understands the change in detail please respond with that description? Like, for example, how does it trigger per encounter if there is still a "Cooldown at 3,5 minutes?"
What I would specifically like to know is if all the Combat Focus feats trigger per encounter, and/or which ones still need to be hot bar'd and selected in order to function. Cheers.

Last I had a character with this, it did indeed say 3,5 minutes, but it was actually 5.Steve wrote:Can someone who understands the change in detail please respond with that description? Like, for example, how does it trigger per encounter if there is still a "Cooldown at 3,5 minutes?"
I don't know exactly what this new function entails, though. If it is triggered once each encounter, it may be very powerful indeed.

Re: Combat Focus: latest iteration explanation request
Well, both the Forum here and the Wiki state 3.5 minute cool down. So that should get updated one way or another.
If the Combat Focus line would "pop" each encounter, that would be 14 rounds each time an encounter occurs, but I'm assuming the Cooldown is still there. So that way, it wouldn't be one an OP constant +4 Will, +4 regen...though one can better go with Steadfast, a high CON and Epic Regen II (an equal 4 feats and high CON is awesome for lasting in Combat).
Combat Focus then benefits MORE in those 14 rounds, where as an option the Character can drop the Will and Regen for +4 AB and +4 DMG.

Yep get you even last longer if use barbarian combined with epic dr, fast healing high con or other class you layer the dr. Most normal hits of physical damage cant even hurt you, which can make you truly invincible!

I was thinking about this triggering, and without knowledge of how it really works, I was wondering how the triggering might auto-trigger, then you get the long Cooldown. So that would mean you couldn't save your Combat Focus for the Boss, or difficult fights. Which might not be so good.

IDK what changed, the cooldown is still there (5 min).
3/10. I advise against taking this feat line.

From me testing the feat on the server right now, the feat is triggered automatically upon the start of combat without triggering a cooldown, meaning you can still voluntarily initiate the feat every 5 minutes.
The big issue is that this automatic triggering only seems to happen during the first combat that occurs after every reset. It doesn't trigger every encounter, or every few minutes.

Yeah, its more useless now, as you cant trigger it when you need it.

You can still trigger it as normal.Theodore01 wrote:Yeah, its more useless now, as you cant trigger it when you need it.
But the automatic thingamajig only works once a reset, and only on the first combat.
