Build Challenge: Arcane Blaster (image)?

Tested out Sorc 6 / Cleric 4 / ASoC 10 / AM 10 on JEGs...up to lvl 18, only, because the damn restriction removal for Arch Mage is not there...nor on BGTSCC yet either, which kinda sucks.

Anyway, at lvl 18, it IS a total blaster. One can maximise spell blast their way through the foes in JEGs with ease, and without actual armor...yet...it can get 41 AC. It'll max out at 50 AC if using a Shield at lvl 30, which isn't bad at all, considering Displacement and other defensive spells. Might be well untouchable.

At lvl 18, however, one has to forego armor if blasting, because 25% spell failure is harsh. HARSH!

Anyway, the build is only concept atm because the Arch Mage restriction is still IG. Boo!

Why don't you pick the armor proficiencies feats ? Since your DC won't be great due to taking automatic still spell you can go 10 sorc/10 asoc/10 am and get the armor feats !

Simply because I don't have to! And I always want more!!

Actually the only class that gives you armor proficiency that is allowed to multiclass with archmage at the moment to my knowledge is ... harper agent. But it needs two fairly useless feats, gives you only light armor proficiency (no shield) and makes you lose 1 CL. Conclusion : pick the armor feats manually

Arch Mage is on track to become unrestricted, don't ya know?!

Anyway, I'm starting to think maybe I have this guy all wrong. Maybe he is more a caster cleric, like Cleric 10 / Dragonslayer 10 / Heirophant 10. Maybe even substitute 5 Thaumaturgist in there? Is it possible?
