I have problems deciding which spell choosing for my bard. Even more with the additions in the big update.
How do exactly Mislead and Programmed Image work? I think one of these can be fun to use in some RP situations, but, are they useful? I non RP situations too.
What about Energy Buffer and Song of Dischord? Are they useful? The first could be overlapped or fall in disuse with 6th level Energy Immunity and I am not totally sure about the second.

Energy buffer is a great pick, I always get it solely because 6th level spots are such a hot commodity I don't want to use too many energy immunities, particularly when you remember that Nixie's Grace, Superior Resistance, and Extended Greater Heroism are all taking up 6th level casts.freekender wrote:I have problems deciding which spell choosing for my bard. Song of discord is not great... I used to use it for the fun of it (works great when you are a CHA built bard on low level enemies) but the DCs will never be high as a fifth level spell. If you want to go to Xvart village and watch them all run around fighting one another or the bear for funsies, take it. But there are better choices, like energy buffer.
Mislead causes you to telegraph a failed teleport, and simultaneously makes you invisible while making an illusory double of you appear and run away. Seen it work a few times in PVP even (Looking at you, Micar sisters,
Programmed image I have less experience with, but I think it makes an illusion of you that follows you around to serve as a distraction, basically.

I had some doubts about taking Energy Buffer, because I haven't get to the point of haveing 6th lvl spells yet. However your reasoning have made me think about it and you are correct about saving 6th lvl casts.
About Mislead and Programmed Image, both seem fun for using in RP and more "practical" situations, like bravely escaping
