I hope the RNG will have his revenge on you all and have your characters fall helplessly into the mud on a failed reflex save

I like paladin18/fighter12, myself. It works basically like a standard fighter most of the time. Good damage, high AB, decentish AC. And then you can have epic awesomeness with paladin buffs and edm/divine shield (if you go the charisma route and manage to fit it in). The fact that it is basically a fighter means it doesn't rely on the buffs, though, so you can still do quite well (as any other average fighter build) without any buffs. This means the 22 cl (18 effective progression) isn't as much of a problem with regards to the dispel bug fix.

It is not completely necessary to take Able Learner. The last AK lvl can be taken on 27th lvl, although this route makes the build a bit trickier to make (and to take Steadfast in epics if you want it).chad878262 wrote:Paladin have a spell for toughness, but getting tumble is a decent benefit. Only issue is you need able learner to max it and paladin has need of other skills so may not be able to afford it, depending on the build.

True, but then you are burning an epic feat (which you are already losing one of as well) to take steadfast. In addition, as a human if you are going this route you can essentially (assuming 10 INT, 9 DEX, 11 CON, 14 WIS, 16 STR/CHA) take Tumble 30, Concentration 33 and Heal ~27 with only 3 lore, 5 spellcraft and 3 craft alchemy. So it can be done, but you've no room for any RP lore or conversation skills. Still I do like the build for squeezing out the couple of free feats and +3 AC, +2 Will, so good job freekender. I wouldn't play it, but that is only because I like some lore skills to flesh out a character, but that is not to say it isn't a really good build. I would say those two epic feats would basically just be 2 more charisma (probably) so really your just losing 1 AC from divine shield or 2 dmg from EDM... like it!freekender wrote:It is not completely necessary to take Able Learner. I recently made an alt with this split (still very low level), I chose it mainly for RP reasons (has Diplomacy, no Heal though). It is fun to play.

I use Able Learner to get Spot very often on paladins. It's hard to be an enforcer of law and order while not being able to spot the sneaky rogue making off with your pouch. Also, Divine Shield is Dodge AC. That means all that godly defense goes down if someone Feints you successfully.
