Documentation priorities

Unread post by Valefort »

Is there any particular game mechanic that needs to be documented in priority ? If so please post here and I'll try to add the info on the wiki.

All new sorc / wiz Level 1 spells are now documented, expect the imbue items and rune spells, since the enchanting framework is not yet implemented.

Any spell you find that is not listed let us know.

Bump, if anyone wants something documented that isn't already post here. Otherwise I'll add wiki pages of things that are already documented on the forum but not the wiki.

not sure of the priority, but the playable classes are woefully incomplete. Missing stock classes such as Swashbuckler. Would be nice if the classes were completed with all of the custom BG changes documented correctly. Again, probably not a high priority since the forums have class changes and new classes well documented, but if there is nothing else being worked on and you want to take the time... :D

I'll do my best, but I have immense troubles with our wiki (and wiki in general)... Regardless if I open from my work laptop, personal laptop or mobile phone it causes me to lag immensely with the screen locking off and on. I was more just posting this as something newer players or those that don't pay attention to changes might find useful. I would have been updating the wiki long ago if opening the webpage didn't cause demons to invade whatever computer I am on!

The wiki itself has horrible navigation. Is there a way we can sort it better?
Example feet's: filter epic only
Classes: filter divine only
Storm - The Blade Flurry
Druegar Grizzleclaw - The Mountain Ruin Tsar
Akroma Thuul - The Creepy Enchanter
Liliana Duskblade - The B*tch of Bane
Jamie Dawnbringer - The Light in the Darkness

Sure just add categories in the feats, it's at the bottom of the pages.

arcane trickster is missing almost everywhere. it's missing on the wiki, and in new classes list on the forums. the only place it exists is in custom changes to classes post

Yeah that's a problem chambo and myself ran in, there are so many little tweaks now compared to vanilla that it's almost worth it to put everything on the local wiki (except that's thousands of pages you know).

That said I'll add all the classes, eventually.

Question: is the Wiki going to be the default repository for BGTSCC documentation? Replacing this web site as the Main Source?

If the Wiki is freely editable, then does that possible pose a problem of having information be wrong and/or messed with?

Yes, getting the ingame descriptions, wiki and the forum descriptions uptodate is a triple workload.

Wiki: +Is easy to use and players can leave comments. -Everyone can mess with it.
Ingame: +Everyone has access to the info. - more work for the devs.
Forum: +Easy to updated and non staff cannot mess with it.

Not main source, forum is the one with people in positions of authorithy to back up the info and not everyone can mess with it.

As for the wiki it is easy enough to roll back to a previous version of a page in case of troll attacks, and if someone is being really obnoxious he can be prevented from editing the pages ... or anyone who isn't approved by the admins if it comes to that.

The real advantage of the wiki, beyond the triple workload, is that anyone can add gameplay notes to provide more info about the playability of a feat or spell. After that it's personal preference, navigation in wikis feels intuitive for me and it's easier to research.
