DIsguise Self
Does this spell work correctly now?
I am wondering because when i cast it, it says something like "Average DC is 20". Is that the DC other PCs have to succeed in order to see through the spell?
If so then it is rather low. My character should have a much higher DC on this spell.

Re: DIsguise Self
No it is not working because the Disguise framework has not been finalised yet.

Thanks that link helps a lot!Valefort wrote:http://bgtscc.wikia.com/wiki/Disguise_system
I have two questions though
The 16 is the CL of the True Seeing? The system looks up the caster level of each spell and keeps the highest, if the caster level of True Seeing is inferior at 16 it isn't considered, let's call that DetectorDC.
So the Detector DC is the CL of the True Seeing?
Is this system already ingame and working? I was told by mentalist that Disguise Self currently works just like the regular disguise system.

Be warned. Being disguised and having the name changed will bug you charactername when the server crashes. Only way to fix it is to recreate the character.

Re: DIsguise Self
It's supposed to work like that in game at the moment, I read the scripts and wrote the wiki page based solely on that (no testing, if you test stuff please edit the wiki page accordingly with info
).
As for the 16 it's the minimum CL needed for True Seeing to be considered as a mean to perceive a magical disguise because of a strange line in that spell (it was probably not intended but I documented things as they are, nothing else).

Or you know.. just use the disguise system to change your name back until the server crashes again.Touri wrote:Be warned. Being disguised and having the name changed will bug you charactername when the server crashes. Only way to fix it is to recreate the character.
(Or actually just asking a DM nicely to fix it for you)

Re: DIsguise Self
I tried it, but it didn't work for me. My char name in the right window was " " nothing! and "Roger" when I spawed, even if it showed "Vendor Xon" in the window , where you choose wich char to play. Also Dm couldn't fix it.AlexBnt wrote:Or you know.. just use the disguise system to change your name back until the server crashes again.Touri wrote:Be warned. Re: DIsguise Self
Characters with bugged names can be fixed by a DM.
It does not force a recreation of the character.

Some suggestions for those who want to use it in RP in the meantime:
- The check: 1d20 + highest of Spot / Sense Motive + vs 1d20 + Disguise
Penalty: -4 for race, -4 for gender
Appraise Creature: Cooldown between uses (15 min)
Disguise Self detectable by detect magic, since it's a spell
What we see depends mainly on what we look for

Re: DIsguise Self
That's what the page says Lux, except there are also modifiers for armors and distance.
The logic being that if you appraise someone from a distance it's harder than when you're close, as for armors if the appraised person is encased in a big armor and using an 'helmet' covering its face there are other modifiers making it even more difficult to see through his disguise.

Yes, I know. What I'm saying is that it might not end up looking exactly like that. I posted the basics as an easy-to-read suggestion for RP that's in line with what we're working on.
