Not sure how feet distance are supposed to translate into any kind of visual representation I can understand in-game but the distance is VERY short. At casterlevel 20, if someone is further away than a room in the orc cave in Sharpteeth, the spell is removed as the distance is 'too far'.
I know the spell used to work across maps before and that made it powerful but I feel with this change, it's useless. I don't have the spell slots to memorize more than one casting and telling another character to stay within hugging distance feels a bit silly.
Basically, if you had a melee and an archer in a party and this was cast on the archer by the melee, it wouldn't work.
Can it be made more useful please? At least doubling the distance..?

I'm with you on that. I've been playing around with it on my animal companion and yea, it's next to useless because the second I move somewhere I'm too far away from the target I cast it.
