Im against the idea, earlier this week i was leaving the haunted mansion, met another player who have 3 words set me to hostile a bigby and 2 spells later i was dead lvl 19 a fun character to play dead in seconds no pvp consent given etc.

If that character had been one of those opted in for perma death would of been a really crappy end especially since theres no follow up rp etc.
I play Medune I think? maybe? probably? I'm not really certain.

When something like this happens you really aught to screen shot the logs and PM the dm team. Were permadeath a thing I imagine a dm could fix your character...plus the player that pvp'd without consent should be disciplined. That type of behavior isn't really conducive to a cooperative story telling environment.

While we have systems in place to deal with (and prevent) incidents like that happening simple fact is they still happen and will go onto happen. I wish the server was 100% friendly co-operative storytelling etc but its not i doubt it ever would be and if it did it wouldnt be the BG i love. Im here to have fun enjoy the game rp etc. Im not the kind of person to report or complain about every minor infraction.

Im here to play on the server, not play the rules.

The token is supposed to be OPTIONAL. If you don't like the idea, you don't take the token. Nobody is gonna force permadeath upon you, if you don't have the token.

And yeah, I also had bad pvp experiences as well. Worst one ruined a month of character development.

While reporting can be annoying sometimes, you can make sure that the problem player gets dealt with rather than him/her doing it to more people and ruining more people's days.

I also 110% want a Perma-Death token system that you can't be raised\rezed or anything.

However, I dont think your reward for such goes far enough, and can also be abused.

Instead, I recommend, that when you have this token\feat , you gain EXP normally as you do now (Quest, RP\EXP) however all EXP is muilt by 3x, or 2.5x or 4x (some considerable bonus)

meaning you at level 2 kill a skeleton worth 20EXP to a level 2 normally.

you get the 20XP the feat\token see's the EXP income and goes 20XP two more times

(for a total of 60)

This would force disabuse and reward people for there perma-death chars!

Permadeath feat optional, does not cost a feat, gives 2x XP per monster slain would be good. Just have PvP deaths not count.

Or maybe 10 deaths token = 2x XP
5 death token = 3x XP
1 death token = 4x XP

No RCR's would be a given, and XP would apply only to monster kills.

It would not be wise to implement it on an item because even non-transferable items such as the player status/locator widget can be dropped and picked up by certain exploits.
