Ac loss during character save, if polymorphed

Unread post by NegInfinity »

It looks like forced "depolymorph" which happens when your character is saved causes massive ac loss for polymorphed druids. For exxample, AC can go from 30 to 19.

Would be nice to have this fixed or to have forced save disabled when character is wildshaped.

yes saving breaks polymorph... do you know what was saving you?

quests auto saves will not be turned off if thats it

but given this has started popping up again a lot lately and some script with item saving was added im guessing its saving whenever you loot?

also manually unshifting and reshifting will fix the AC

Apparently saving happens periodically or something like that. In my case my char got depolymorphed shortly after after location change (and logging on), without actually doing anything item-related at all.

The character was in the middle of buffing sequence and boom. 11 ac gone.

I would prefer to have an option to disable this auto-saving for polymorphed chars. Manually reshifting may not be possible depending on the situation as well.

It is also possible that something completely unrelated to the characcter is triggering the save.

aside from the manual save i dont think the other auto saves can be narrowed down like that unfortunately

not sure if there is a periodic server auto save, pretty sure luna never enabled that one, random saving is actually more likely the fault of new DMs hitting the wrong button if its the one that saves the entire server

but then again with so much stuff now its possible something got switched on :?

Have someone thought, you know, looking at the saving script? It should be possible to save ac difference and reapply it back on repolymorphting... or at the very least recalculate wildshape ac bonuses.

its a pretty old glitch... one that was figured out more or less the same week that AC was allowed to transfer

the script was already updated for that by saving the AC to wildshape which lets you reshift and keep the bonuses because the original version you completely lost everything (you should be able to keep stuff like greater magic fang and flame weapon also)

so that much as already been done, i did ask about what all saves are going off tho so we will see about that because there really shouldnt be a periodic one active
