Re: Invisible needle
Thanks for the feedback, it all helps!
I often try to group up but miss out due to that 'your too low or too high level' spread quite often...very frustrating.

Re: Invisible needle
Enchantment speciality really work best with a trickster or otherwise melee build, since many successful enchantment spell attempt invites flanking bonus to SA and possibly coup de grace.
In part this is due to the server's massive nerf of the school, then again if we had the better spells of the school little would have to be done by the character in person at all.
Ever so grateful for the new Germidan bolt spell when I am running low level enchanter arcane tricksters.
IMHO

Re: Invisible needle
was also thinking of putting points into the parry skill to aide survivability for the following build:
can parry mode work while spell casting?
School focus: Illusion
Wizard 26
SD 4 (for Hips)
Also,
could we get invisible needle set to at least medium range so that we can use it again?

Better off with defensive casting or ICE.

Re: Invisible needle
I am curious, just how effective is defensive casting?
would it require me to take other feats to augment it, etc...?

Re: Invisible needle
Requires nothing besides maxing concentration, which you'll do anyway.

Re: Invisible needle
Its useful until you get your concentration skill high... after that its not needed. Best not to take the feat as it is not worth it.

Re: Invisible needle
ah, so the character takes a beating but can still cast effectively...
and ICE give +6 to ac...
would ICE work with Hips?
not that any of this would be of immediate benefit to my toon - its for the future aftter he levels a bit more...

Re: Invisible needle
Yes, combat expertise is a mode so can't work with power attack or flurry of blows, but works with hide fine.
Defensive casting is a mode so doesn't work ICE, but as stated doesn't matter since the attack of opportunity shouldn't hit (high AC, displacement, mirror image, etc)

Re: Invisible needle
Are reserve feats impacted by quicken or other metamagic feats?
My understanding is no
Please echo this no with experience as I am planning rebuild for invisible needle :3

Re: Invisible needle
Metamagics don't apply to reserve feats.
