Gutted - Books Lost in Database

Unread post by Tsidkenu »

So I was alerted by another player that my IG book series "The Eight Schools of Magic Vols I-VIII" are no longer displaying their contents. And they aren't. I am absolutely gutted, especially considering it took me a little over a month of on-off work to prepare those IG. They do not exist in any other format. I did not save the originals because of weight encumbrance.

RIP.

(If anyone has working copies of these 8 books, pls PM me immediately)

Maura has 1 copy of the book, as she could purchase only one at the time. Conjuration I believe.

It does. Somehow the copy I received from the library was fine. But later days/weeks when I tried to purchase the remaining volumes, Im receiving the empty ones.

I'll flag this to Endelyon. It could be that the data is still in there, and the database is just misreading it.

As far as I'm aware, it is only those 8 books that are affected. All the others seem fine.

I took a look at it, it's missing entirely for that set of books. The row reference of the book exists, but the contents aren't there. I had found someone else holding a few of them in storage that I was going to duplicate, or scan through the vault binaries if others had them on their characters / mules if someone else didn't procure them.

I have a copy of necromancy that works fine.

Big thank you to Endelyon for recovering my works from the SQL database, and Tantive for copying them out onto the forum.

The IG works will be fixed at some point in the near future when Endelyon makes some edits to the database, but with them so freely available on the forum now, why not read them during your lunch break?

Just noticed the Book SQL database still hasn't been updated and this 8-part series of mine is still blank IG, where folks probably need it the most.

I know it's not terribly urgent, but just saying 8-)

"Yes. They will atone in death."
"Ah. That will help them understand."
