Hey there!

First of all, welcome.

It can be hard to level up at low levels, but what I have found over time is that if you focus on the RP the leveling actually comes faster. I am not saying 'Don't' adventure, you should adventure a lot, but RP while you are doing it. Ticks of 20-35xp add up very quickly, especially at lower levels.

I wouldn't really worry about level equality, either. You'll get better XP in a group of similar levels, but you can tackle much greater adventure in a mixed range party and so long as the RP is solid it can be a lot of fun. I have somehow landed with a handful of newer, lower level, characters recently and had some of the best RP I've ever had (Eidolon thanks you, guys) on those adventures, and have also had a ton of fun with folks who I am sure are level 30.

The only time leveling is truly hard is if you refuse to interact, RP (even with emotes!), and play with your fellow players. Send me a Tell if you see me on, and good luck.

I'd stumbled upon NWN2 and this server in particular a good few months ago, though until now, I hadn't given neither BGTSCC or NWN2 a proper try. I've some experience in NWN/FR, but as far as the second game goes, I'm entirely out of my element!

It likely doesn't come off as a surprise that I'm finding it difficult to progress past level one, nor that I'm akin to a headless chicken in-game - utterly clueless and lost. As such, should anyone have tips for a newcomer, whether they pertain to locations of RP hubs or methods of safe levelling/levelling in general (my character is a level one rogue, so soloing isn't exactly viable right now!), I'll gladly receive such either via PM or here, or better yet, if anyone is interested in starting up a group of lowbies, even if it's just a pair of us, I'd not be at all opposed to the idea. Keep in mind, though, that I'm an EU player!

Hi guys,
I'm new to the community and I was wondering if could be possible, for a non-native speaker, to join and try to role-play with you ^_^
I'm originally from Italy, just moved to London and as you can tell I'm far to be confident with my english skills.
Anyway I'd really like to create a character in your realm because I love the FR setting, moreover it would be a great opportunity to improve my english and have fun at the same time. To be honest I'm not familiar with the language used in a persistent world but I'm familiar with the game so if you you want to give me a chance I would take it :)

Please feel free to give me suggestions and tell me about your previous experience with foreing players (if any), it would be very appriciated :D

Ciao,
Enrico

Welcome to BG! You are very much welcome to join us here and I look forward to meeting you eventually in game. Believe it or not a HUGE percentage of players here are from across the ocean and alot of them have difficulty with english as well. You will find that most are very patient when it comes to responding to role play. Especially if they are aware that you have to translate then work out how to respond. You will fit in perfectly. See you around! BTW if you need help do not be afraid to pm me in game. I play Terri Lalani. :D

Welcome to the server I look forward to meeting you all. I'm dyslexic and find it hard to spell my way out of a paper box most days, yet I've only once had a person make a deal out of it in 5 years :) So native speaker or not this is a very understanding server.

Hello Camera9,

welcome at Baldur's Gate The Sword Coast Chronicles. It's no problem that english is not your native language. For sure a online dictionary will be your best friend, but the people here are very kind and patient. As Darkcloud777 mentioned, there are a lot of players from all around the world. I play here for several years now and can tell you that your english will improve very well. If you have a question or need any help feel free to send me a pm in game or here at the Forum. My gameaccount is Tourist80.

Kind regards

Hello everybody! :) Names Trimalim and I'm happy to be here.

I found BG through the NWNList website which is really handy. I saw this place had a bunch of people and figured I'd poke my head in! I've played a NWN1 persistent world for a little less than a year but I've been wanting to find a NWN2 option since there is just so much more to the game. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the neat ways people utilize the new classes, feats, and features.

My first PC is Evelyn who is a druid but struggles with the dissonance between things that are important to her and what she may want as a person and what her druidic deity may consider important or how she should act. She is not a perfect druid but she tries really hard!

Anyways I hope to see you all in game!

Hi hi, :)

so, i decided tot stay on this server for longer. Means, i will catch up with introducing myself. Some players and DMs might already remember me. ;)

I have played NWN 1 and NWN2 on more strict RP-servers for years. So i do have some experience with RP, the FR and the gods etc.. I don't have much experience with powerful builds, so in general i'm grateful for help and tips.
My character Freya might react sensitive, if someone wants to teach her, which weapon to use etc.. As a divine touched character, the word of her godess always goes first. But usually she's fun, and nice and easy going. :D
I as a player am normally quiet friendly and not so complicated. If someone cares to RP, just ask or emote, i don't bite. :)

Just one thing i would ask personally from you all. The thing to keep in mind is about me: I am no a native english speaking player. I am a european player. Though i think my english isn't too bad, it might take me a few moments to answer. Then please have a little patience. Don't walk away too fast and don't blame it on my character. She normally isn't fallen on her mouth. Just the player needs a moment to think how to react, to translate in her mind and to type. ^^

Otherwise i haven't seen all of the server, but i do love it. Already the citly Baldur's Gate is cool built with details and atmosphere. Was already fun just to walk around and do some shopping there.
The DMs are generous and open and also fast with support. Some players i met, are also friendly and helpful and dragged me along in a first short adventure though my character was only Level 3 that day.
Kudos for all of that, you are all great. I will be not here every day, but i hope we will have more fun togteher.

To a good play for us all
Seraphine :)

Hello everyone!

It's been wonderful RPing with folks for the last couple days. If you've seen a bumbling man named Adallan walking around, or drinking tea in odd places, that's me!

I look forward to getting to RP with more of you!

Greetings all, I'm a new player-ish. Spent a bit of time here before all of the changes took place, but not really w/any characters of note, and definitely nothing memorable accomplished. Spent some decent time on Mossbourne for NWN, and a little bit of time on Gray Isles before RL parted me from PW engagement. I've been out of pocket from PW play for several years now, looking to get back into the swing of things.

I've played and dabbled in some table top and virtual table top gaming, all the while continuing to play BG (original and EE versions), as well as Pillars of Eternity, and other like D&D affiliated games.

I've been pouring over the canon history here for the last several days, and other sources to construct a bio enough that I feel I can build off of for my character. I'm hoping to be able to have him up and running in-game sometime in the next few days.

My login name dates back a number of years, to an old table top character I ran on a government funded trip of inconsequence. My name is Wayne, so feel free to use that since the login name is a bit of a pain to spell.

Anyway, I look forward to getting back into PW play, and hopefully, run into your toons in-game.

Cheers,
Wayne

Hello,

I'm Kaldor Silverwand and I'm a NWN2 player and developer. I used to play tabletop (pencil and paper, we called it) D&D but that was a long while ago. This is my first NWN2 based PW. I'm glad to be here. I hope you stay.
