Hello All
I have a question. The other day I was challenged to a PVP with another character and had used a healing potion during the battle. Not sure what are the rules to this for No information on the forum about was given. Can you heal yourself during battle? If so is it once or until you have completed your inventory or until the other player is defeated. Would like feed back on this.

You can use everything at any time during the pvp, including healing.

Depends on your character and the manner of pvp engagement I suppose? If it was not specifically specified through RP for the duel that you shouldn't quaff a potion, there's nothing stopping you from so doing.

Alternatively, if you were told that it was against the particular duelling rules at the time and your character is just a cheating a-hole, that is perfectly fine too. Your character is the one to carry that reputation forward after the fact

I've won PVP before by simply chucking perfected acid flasks at my feet because I knew that I had evasion and the opponent didn't.

It's worth staying in character about though, imo. If you don't think your char would sit back and _________, then don't do it. Losing PVP isn't really a big deal in the long run.

Do everything you can to win. Heal, cheat, lie, fight dirty.
To lose is humiliation. To lose is death.

had one guy go thru about 10,000g worth of heal pots in a fight with my drow assassin before he just gave up and died (21 AA assassin vs 30 F/WM) was like a 5-10 min fight, rp fight at that, started because he killed my ilharess at the time in the UD

i did heal a bit and used some UMD but nowhere near the amount he did

but yea some people will do anything to win

Worth every penny even if you lose. It could also be a ring of nine lives with fifty charges.

From a RP perspective, You would do everything in your power to live. No matter how much gold it might cost. Keep in mind that your ability to respawn at no cost is entirely OOC and should never be considered when deciding what to use within a pvp unless its a duel of some sorts.

Though I completely agree with the above quote, dying has no consequence outside whatever the Player chooses, which could be absolutely nothing.

Would a "forced" consequence be any fun? In itself, no.

But the hope would be that a change could be implemented where LIVING actually gives one a bonus, a reason, AND a consequence!

Flip the script, and options can be found to make the game even more interesting and fun.

I think you'll need to weigh it against your toons character. If it's a duel, you might have a toon who's too proud to chug a potion. If it's a life and death fight he might change his stance (or he might be stubborn enough to still rather die an honourable death, than to chug a healing potion).

Then again, if you play a dirty fighter, he might use every means he has, no matter the circumstances. There are no written rules. Just be clear OOC what rules you want to have, I think.
