Of average height for a Dwarf, he is less stout than his brethren. His constitution seems of average condition for his age, along with average but fit musculature. At mid-point between adulthood and middle age, he is at the height of his vitality. His appearance, attire and outward attitude are of an experienced, skilled traveler and adventurer.
As an adventuring volamtar, Brinn clothes himself in the typical mottled brown light armor. Upon his left hand, a set of four rings adorn his fingers, each having a particular stone of elemental symbolism. He carries a small mace and a equal small shield.
Psychological description:
Brinn Essebrenenath values the forces of nature and individual freedoms above all else, and despise those who would deprive others of them. He views that in life there must be some laws in combination with freedoms if the most beneficial conditions for harmony and balance, as it pertains in general and to creatures with spirit and awareness in particular. Law and chaos are means to support life, happiness, and prosperity to all natural—and at times deserving—creatures.
Self-reliance is a cornerstone of Brinn's personality. He will keep his word to those who are not evil, and he would never attack an unarmed foe nor ever harm an innocent. He is trustful of organizations in general when their purpose is to utilitarian, and his respect for Clans and his Dwarven brethrens’ traditions holds sway upon his actions as a caretaker of natural forces, and it is by way of his role as a Volamtar and Druid that he is instrumental in keeping a balance between both, in his life.
Brinn can be described as having the character traits of self-reliance, helpfulness, respectfulness, humane, friendliness and protective of life.
Religious views:
Brinn, as Volamtar along with the Druidic Way, wisely balances the four elements found in divine nature throughout Faerun with the dogma of the followers of Marthommar Duin:
Eschew the illusory safety of the clan hold and instead travel widely to spread the words of the Morndinsamman to those of other races,
that they might gain the product of Dwarven wisdom. Help fellow wanderers and sojourners to the best of your ability, for the road is
easier endured amid the tread of companionship. Seek out new ways and paths, and discover the wise world in your wanderings.
Herald the way of newfound hope.

Herald the way of newfound hope.
The mountains, caverns, canyons, caves and rifts are where The Watchful Eye has guided his flock to open—or reopen—pathways for the Stout Folk to travel.
In turn, Brinn has taken to guide his Dwarven brethren that may be more accustomed to the world beneath the surface, to respect that which lives above, to placate the fears that "above" was inhospitable to the Stout Folk, and that with greater wisdom, understanding and respect, all Dwarves could travel with less worry and concern. Mastery of surface lands and subterranean caverns has been the history of the Gold Dwarves for generations…to know the Below, Brinn developed a Druidic tradition that mirrored the Above, employing the Four Elements in both environs to aid in his approach to support the diversity in Nature, no matter where it was found.
As it was with Gold Dwarves in general, resources of the natural world existed only to serve the purpose of conscious beings. Brinn understood his calling was to make sure as much that was taken would be equally regenerated, or at least venerated, as being a gift from a vibrant, living world. That the divine spirit of nature flowed through all aspects of life should be revered from source to end made masterwork.

History
Brinn had barely reached adulthood when the Thunder Blessing occurred, born into ancient yet small clan of volamtar, a clan with such age that many rituals of worship to The Watchful Eye used his name from the old ways, Muamman Duathal. The clan held strong beliefs in the Dwarven blood and spirit connection to the element of earth—stone, silence, strength—but understood that the four elements brought together the strongest foundation.
Brinn entered adulthood on a very different path than where he is currently. In his most youthful years, Brinn scouted and searched for hidden treasures—and sometimes not so hidden—forgoing the more traditional labor and skill of his clan. Yet Brinn was not a thief, venturing from the Rift, tracking and spotting for any beings that would themselves have taken or hoarded treasure—such as the goblinoid races—from which Brinn could "liberate" such caches and chests.
In these early adulthood adventures, Brinn would swear that some aspects of the natural world—both animate and inanimate—would talk to him, and even such that he believed he saw some objects with with a illusory mouth, speaking to him. Over time, this “voice” gave him insight to the divine forces of nature, and Brinn gained in wisdom on the aspects of elemental aspects of the world around him, both above and below ground.
When Brinn finally found the courage to communicate his experiences to his clan, the grand priests of the volamtar decreed that Brinn has received a blessing of wisdom from the Finder-of-Trails, and that Brinn must continue the path of greater understanding between the connection of Stout blood with the earth, and to utilize this wisdom and skill to himself become volamtar, who could guide his brethren between the Above and Below environs…and discover the wide world in his wanderings.
While the Thunder Blessing was seen as a boon to most dwarves, among the gold dwarves its results were less appreciated, as the Blessing actually causing the previously stable population to swell beyond the capacity of the Deep Kingdom to support. In the years that followed, many displaced younger gold dwarves forsook the isolationist policies of their elders and took to exploring Faerûn. Brinn would be one of them, choosing to blaze a trail to new outposts, link strongholds and connect kingdoms for all Stout kind. Nearly a decade ago, Brinn joined with some of those “displaced” younger dwarves who themselves had reached adulthood, and trekked westward, ending a great journey in the Giant’s Run Mountains. After many years of travel and exploration to and within this mountain range, one could imagine an outpost taking form.
More recent than not, Brinn began having recurring dreams, of another fortress of Dwarves, even farther to the west, edging a great sea, where in abstract depictions there lacked a blazer of fresh trails to forge a future of the kingdom state. Though Brinn was no longer considered a young Stout, he was not without powers and curiosity in his daily ways, yet...much was unknown to him as to why he dreamed of a place so far and alien to where he was now. But the dreams persisted and soon disturbed his existing balance. Brinn came to know it was his time, that he must seek out new ways and new paths, and discover the wide world in new wanderings.
Brinn's eventual arrival at Kraak Helzak was heralded by an immediate sign of faith....
Future
- Establish the volamtar within Kraak Helzak and further along the Sword Coast
- ”…travel widely to spread the words of the Morndinsamman to those of other races, that they might gain the product of dwarven wisdom. Help fellow wanderers and sojourners to the best of your ability, for the road is easier endured amid the tread of companionship. Seek out new ways and paths, and discover the wise world in your wanderings. Herald the way of newfound hope.”

Plot hooks
- Resolving conflicts that linger between the traditionalist Dwarven community mindset of protectionist existence and the newly “adventurous” mind of those born of or deeply moved by the Thunder Blessing and identify as Telormar Gultor (https://www.realmshelps.net/faerun/orga ... alor.shtml).
- Brinn was granted a vision that lured him to the Sword Coast and to Kraak Helzak, a dream that mixed both success and failure unresolved…which Brinn has interpreted as why he must see the result through existing within this land and stronghold of Dwarven renown.
- Working on it...
- Inspiration for the Brinn Essebrenanath is the Races of Stone race Dream Dwarf. While I as the player am completely aware the Dream Dwarf race is not an "active" characteristic of the Forgotten Realms/Faerun, the concept of a druidic dwarf and the "earth dream" as a basis for elemental understanding and essence or nature of being, seems like a profoundly interesting and unique path to explore via role-play...within the context of the Forgotten Realms, and respecting that context.
