Character:
Thalie is a woman of few words and perhaps somewhat stiff but always courteous. She prefers to keep her emotions and feelings in check, not wanting someone to get hurt because of them and duty does always come first. To her it is a small sacrifice that has to be made for the greater good. She fights for a better and more just world, where children do not become orphans and can play freely without a worry. She fights so that the innocent do not have to.

Appearance:
Although still young, her stern look and rigid posture make her look older. Her gate is purposeful and her gaze attentive to what is going on around her. Despite her perhaps cold demeanor she still has a softness to her which can especially be seen on the rare occasions that she smiles.

Her soft milky skin has an almost otherworldly glow to it as if blessed by the Gods themselves and her eyes are like lilacs covered in frost on a cold morning. She has flowing raven hair that cascades down her back and hide her ears that are slightly pointed. The young woman is well toned from her training and has no trouble wearing the heavy armor and fighting with a longsword.

Her armor is always polished to a perfect shine and her cloak a pure clean white. She proudly wears Tyr’s holy symbol on a necklace around her neck for all to see.

Background:
Born in Waterdeep, Thalie was the first of three girls. Aria being two years younger and Lilith three years her junior. Even at a young age duty and honor were important to her and while her younger siblings dreamed of being princesses, she wanted to be a knight. Her father, who was disappointed in not having a son, was of course delighted at the idea of his daughter taking up arms and he got her her first sword at the age of nine. He was a Guardsword and had high hopes that Thalie would also join the City Watch.

While her father trained her to use the longsword, her mother made sure to educate her in the ways of Tyr. The young woman took these matters seriously, as she did most things in life and when she reached the age of seventeen, she joined the City Watch.

Although she felt at home amongst the militia there was something missing, at the time she did not quite know what it was but it was as if a higher purpose was calling her.

At her father’s death, who died with a sword to his back on the streets, she realised it was the calling to paladinhood. She was twenty at the time when she entered The Walls of Justice to begin her new path and it was but a year later that she was sent to Baldur’s Gate. Although sad to leave her family and friends behind, she held her head high and hide her emotions as she so often does and packed only the necessary before joining a caravan headed south. And so her journey begins…

Hammer 2nd, 1353

I have arrived at my destination this day. The journey from Waterdeep to Baldur’s Gate was a long one, it took us nearly a month but thankfully there was little unrest along the way.

My first objective was of course to report to the local temple and it is from within the very walls of the temple of Tyr of Baldur’s Gate that I write. The High Priest was kind enough to inform me of the going ons of the city and region to give me a good perspective of what I am to find.

After a small meal I went to investigate the cemetery that he mentioned was overrun with undead. I was horrified to discover the close proximity of these foul things to the city. I quickly went to work in trying to lay them to rest. I dare not imagine if a citizen were to come upon one of these….

Things were going well enough… or so I thought but the next thing I know I had a woman standing over me and no memory as to what happened… I must increase my training substantially. Thankfully the young woman helped me and in turn I aided her in delivering a letter to what seemed to me was a crazy old wizard who locked himself up beneath some ruins. Very strange and I will have to go back to him to find out more about the man.
