For those of us who'd like to donate to see our favorite world stay online.... any chance you'd be willing to tell us about what it costs to maintain a month? Or at lease an idea of how much would be a helpful donation? This.... it hasn't just been a place to rp for me. Baldur's Gate has given me an outlet for creativity and jumpstarted a lot of writing and poetry for myself and others I know. I'd like to give back.

I feel bad for him because all he's really doing is bringing us together and giving us a reason to show our support. I really dont' see how starting a new thread is going to solve much. He'll just read that one if he's able to read this.

I would however suggestion there's no fault in calling him an attacker.. because if I ask what's going on, the response from DM/Player alike is "Ddos attack" which implies an "attacker"

The attacker is some kind of special. I feel bad for him because all he's really doing is bringing us together and giving us a reason to show our support. I really dont' see how starting a new thread is going to solve much. He'll just read that one if he's able to read this. But if he is reading this... I'd like to invite him to get out of his mother's basement, and put these "apparent" computer skills to use in the real world.

think about what kind of life this person must have to be doing this. Putting time and effort into ruining perfect strangers' fun. Frankly, I'm sort of glad he's doing this, because the obvious next step is suicide, so at least he's got this left...

He will get whats coming to him soon enough. If what i hear is true and he is now crashing dozens of servers then that is a pretty major crime right there. Messing with one server may not attract that much attention but messing with a s*** ton of them potentially counts as cyber terrorism and that is not a minor infraction. He will be going away for a looooong time...

Yes, please start a new thread. But please have the Moderators cull all the crap in the posts talking about the "attacker" . Keep the entire thread on-topic, meaning about the SERVER being down.

Seriously, some of the replies folks are posting here have been ridiculous.

Sure, it's frustrating to endure this ....... but wishing death on someone...... WTH ???

I always thought the wonderful community here was above such juvenile antics.

Besides, think about it ....... imagine the huge smile he/she likely gets, reading here how much anger and frustration these attacks are creating. Why would you want to add to that grin ?

Ever heard the expression : " Don't feed the trolls." ?

Think about it before the next time you hit "Submit".

And I hope the staff considers some of this as well. It doesn't create the most flattering first impression to visit these forums and see such a gigantic thread full of vitriol.

A never-ending cycle, it seems. Why fuel it ?
