I asked the DM team and received a reply from DM Dialectic that the Bureaucracy will continue for the 2017 campaign. I also got inspired by DM Hera's post and having seen how well (so far!) the 30min-1h works with the Dukes on the surface, I sent a request for a meeting with the master or a representative of the School of Conjuration.

My aim was for the underlings of the School of Conjuration to discuss (or be told) an agenda by a representative, so there was some knowledge of what the seat aspires for. This could be made more interesting if each School was granted a one-off session to kick start things - because they have different goals. I've not heard back yet but I imagine the new Campaign Coordinators are busy planning the scope of plots. If someone else is interested maybe shoot them a PM and express it. I imagine it's better expressed as interest from playerside than the DMs scheduling a session for all schools, as there's more schools than active people in them

Does anyone know where things were left off? The UD campaign was something about oozes. There were numerous mass events? Looking for a general idea of the atmosphere among the members of the Conclave and honestly, thinking about it... I wouldn't mind 'State of the city' updates in Sshamath from the DMs like there are on regular basis for Baldur's Gate. I'll make the DMs aware of this post so if they want they can chime in from their end.

the ending with the oozes was rather weird, because technically unless you were actually there it never happened... so current state of sshamath would be "normal... or as normal as it gets with drow"

I was part of that last event, major kudos to DM Lobo for pushing on with it during ddos attacks on a sunday. Basically after 4hrs, inc a big battle in the Darkwoods (I assume common knowledge) followed by a hunt to find the big bad guy behind the ooze attacks, he was killed and we all came home (minus one turncoat). The rather unique hunt probably not so common knowledge but was a large party so may be whispers/rumours.

Problem was Lobo went on a break not long after, so we have no 'official' wrap up from a DM. Perhaps another DM could post something regarding what is known and not known etc.

"State of the City". There is the 'DM rumours' thread in GW forum, also the 'Stoneclave: formal petitions to the Conclave' thread that never gets used. Maybe they could all be rolled in one thread to merge the posts into one active thread? Something like "State of the City, announcements, DM rumours, petitions to the conclave etc". Someone can come up with a better heading but you get the idea :).

Thanks for the info on that event, BigJ.

This was something I heard from another player as well. That it may as well not have happened.

This is what I mean about 'State of the city' updates:
Subject: State of Baldur's Gate and Beyond - Act 1 (DM IC RP Only)

There's 2 more but I think the intention was to do one quarterly by HDM and Campaign Coordinator, in the campaign forum area. Its not a small rumour but a list of everything of note, so players can engage easier. Idea with a seperate thread in the campaign area is that they don't get buried in a rumour thread and anyone looking to get involved can do it just from reading 1-4 posts rather than fine comb through multiple threads and head hunt people (which seems to be what I'm doing right now).

I'm locking this thread for now.

Let's everyone take a little time away from the computer to cool our heads. Obviously emotions are involved in this, and some people feel insulted. Please take complaints to the DM team so they can help you work through them and offer advice on how to proceed with your roleplay.

Airing grievances and picking fights on the forums isn't a productive way to go about it.

Mods, feel free to clean up this thread and then unlock it once you're able to do so. I'd recommend leaving it locked for at least 12 hours.

((well the bureaucracy is made up of guilds and factions with the intent of helping sshamath, maybe not each other, but helping the city and so far (at least as far as i know) no one with that intent has been denied

however in your case the post i last saw made it seem as if your guild was trying to come in and overthrow everyone, so its not all that surprising if they said no

if that wasnt your intent thats fine but thats what it came across as :?

// Right. I sent a PM to the DMs asking how one joins and if there were plans to continue the Bureaucracy. I was told how, and that yes there was. So I had my character follow the procedure which means writing to the Conclave using the proper letter format. DMs decide who gets added (because it is the Conclave who decide). Never heard of anyone being outright denied, as there's always an option to attend as non-speakers. It's not Blackman D who decides all this, he just updates the lists.

Did you follow the right procedure..? Did you send reminders via PMs? Messages get buried sometimes.

((i do remember the pm, but i also remember we talked about it a bit in game which is probably way i didnt reply to the pm

i dont remember what was said but bel usually asks how someone plans to help or what their intentions are but always reminds people the bureau members dont control who gets added

pretty sure she suggested sending the request to the conclave tho which would have meant sending a pm to the DMs, tho to be fair i also think at that time we didnt even have a DM looking over bureau stuff

Dia was busy with HDM stuff and the only DM we had doing UD stuff was lobo but he was only an ADM and didnt have access, so if you did ping the DM team you probably did it when it was still a bad time so idk :?

but ishton was one of the originals but it took zauafin a while to be added also bc they tried to join right after Dia became HDM, so its not just you guys

Done. I moved them (and they're above, since they were date-stamped before these more recent posts). I can delete them (and these and any subsequent related posts) if Glowfire and pimpjwp are both OK with it. I don't want to delete their posts without their go-ahead though, since they're not in violation of any forum rules.
