blood magus questions

Unread post by Nachti »

Blood Component: Using this ability deals the blood magus 1 point of damage but raises spell's save CL by 1.
That means it does not increase other effects based on CL such as spell durations or dispel check?
Blood Seeking Spell: To use this ability, a blood magus must inflict a wound upon himself; this is a free action that deals 3 points of damage to the blood magus and becomes a normal part of casting the spell. A bloodseeking spell fuels itself on the blood of it's target increasing the casterlevel by 2.
So blood component and seeking inflict 4 points of damage each time a spell is cast?
Does it have a visual?
How are they toggled on/off?

If nothing changed since February 2016, then it does indeed affect those as well. Tested and true.

It has a visual, it is a feat you can put in your quickbar and toggle on/off, with a message when you do (works like Archmage's High Arcana). Do bear in mind that this one does NOT affect CL if you cast spells ON YOURSELF.

So Haste your party members, or your summon (for instance) to get the full effect. Also, if you cast a Wail of the Banshee, be sure not to target the ground or you'll lose the CL bonus: with BS spell active, always place spells on top of specific targets.

No. Just the -1 damage you take.

Yeah the OOC visual queue is the -1 damage which is not pvpable or even distinguished as anything serious.

The -3 however may be a different story.

Make use of your bluff and disguise skills.
If the text is this color, I am on duty, everything else is just my humble opinion.

I have a better suggestion: if they want to PvP you, kill them.

Ideally, kill them all, but be nice with the RP consequences. Don't ruin anyone's character, if you can.

That was my personal approach. The end result was, people used to go out of their way NOT to PvP me, which suited me just fine :P

Works better than Bluff, believe it or not.

Paladins smite you dead.
Rogues hips you dead.
Not to mention that you often face level 30 chars, while youre level 10-20.

Thats my personal newbie view on pvp. I'd rather pick bluff.

Not so much, no. Paladins aren't particularly dangerous in PvP.
Rogues hips you dead.
You're joking, right? With perma mirror images and DR 30 spells? One scar, one quickened spell and they are disabled or dead? Definitely not

None of which can kill you, if you have the right spells scarred. If you feel outmatched, leave and come back later.

Two months later, when you're lvl 30 too, take my advice.

Which you can't enforce on anyone, as every other skill roll.

So, back to the above...?
