Background:
Hailing from the frostbitten Spine of the World, Auacyn speaks little of her youth prior to departure. The path that led to arrival at Baldur's Gate, however, was one well traveled through varied regions of Faerûn. It started with a rumor that drew the woman from her home, search expanding from single-minded task to that of more generalized cause; the investigative hunt of mystical artifacts. Rumors, myths, legends - from proclaimed and well known sources to the ramblings of drunks with varying degrees of success. She would find, however, that many of the regions traveled were in need of magical aid, despite the stigma often attacked with such. Thus, as she went, the wayward sorceress came to offer services in exchange for coin - the dispatch of beast, the rid of ailment, the scry of missing person, the brew of tonic, and the study of cursed object but a few of the tasks she was called to assist with. Through settlements, cities, villages and towns she ventured on her path, eventually drawn to the coastal region of Baldur's Gate and the possibility of furthering her quest.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
For the past eight years, Auacyn has been on the trail of an inscribed stone tablet; broken and split into several pieces. These were said to have been scattered throughout Faerûn, and little is known of their existence beyond whispered legend from the Spine of the world. It is said that bringing together these fragments and reading the text thereupon will grant single boon unto she responsible. So far, Auacyn believes she has four of these seven pieces, with the fifth rumored to be somewhere on the Sword Coast.
Additionally, Auacyn is also in the process of compiling her own Bestiary of Fantastical Creatures as encountered in her travels. She will purposely seek these out, (especially rumors of those most rare), writing of their appearance, habits, strengths and weaknesses.
