To have a thread with players and even staff members say it's completely fine to do this (because it was fun or x and y and z, and because you shouldn't care what others think or feel in a community based roleplaying game) is extremely harmful to the general health of the server atmosphere. The rules exist for a reason.

Yeah, I have to put in a "I third this. Every last word of this".

My interest solely lies in discovering additional exploits that we can plug the holes of, and being active about it's discovery and possible solution. Something QC has a hand in. If he has an interest in that and wants to aid in that pursuit, that's all I care about.

I... thought we agreed not to discuss this on the forums, honey.
Wirg to Pug: "Iz lat dun?"
Pugratix to a snarky militia man: "Mmmm. Not yet. I will live for hundreds of years and be heralded as one of the greatest forces of destruction on the face of the world. The only thing you can destroy is the outhouse."

And, well, I care about a precedent being set of rewarding people who consistently do wrong. Because that will destroy this place faster than anything possibly can.

The rules definitely will be enforced, and hopefully nobody takes the community's well-wishing here to mean otherwise. Admitting to a crime does not free you of the consequences -- though it can lighten the sentence if you own up and hold yourself accountable (as in criminal law, where there are plea bargains).
Suffice it to say, if anyone does break the rules and is caught doing it, there will be consequences for that player.
The rules are in place to protect our players, after all, not our staff. They're there to make sure everyone is able to have fun, that the playing field is level, and that nobody's taking advantage of anybody else. When the rules are broken, the only people who are actually being hurt are the players.
The role of the staff, aside from providing content and stories, is to try to protect players.

Very well said. This reminds me of an issue that happened at my work place. A very senior (and respected) individual was caught drinking at work. He was hiding his booze in large styrofoam gas-station sodas. When caught by a manager, he said simply, "I have a problem". Just because of that, he kept his job and was basically deified. Had he not said those three words, he would have been fired without remorse. Why did that worker say them? To escape.
We shouldn't hate anyone, but we should dispense justice equally to all. I completely understand the desire to turn particularly skilled "black hats" into "white hats". It happens in the real world all the time, but they do it while serving out the terms of their punishments.
Vogar Eol - Dwarf, "I likes pixie wine. It just be hard catching enough pixies to squeeze."
Rashal - Lady's Man, "What do you call a male elf? Pathetic, as it were."
I will make this short and sweet. Despite everything or anything else. It is very clear to this community that you will be missed. I wish you nothing but the best in life my friend.

I don't much care for cheating either and to be honest I've had multiple heated discussions in my day about cheating over various media. I'm also a bit concerned about the seemingly flippant attitude towards cheating in the thread. Everyone has to put this in perspective though. All (s)he did was cheat in a game. (s)He isn't cheating someone out of money in a deal or cheating on his/her lover. It certainly doesn't mean that (s)he is a bad person that some seem to be implying. (s)He cheated, (s)he got caught, and now (s)he's serving time and all is right in the BGTSCC world.
Take care OP. If you decide to come back, a word of advice. Take the game as a challenge by making a character who is flawed mechanically. Successes will be far more satisfying and failures wont sting quite as much.

Keep in mind that instead of getting a new CD key or proxie IP as he gets banned or telling his friends all the exploits he found and simpily disappearing he went and spilled the beans to the staff so the problem could be fixed.
And also we now have this thread as a remind of what happens when you break the rules.
And yes I think reports on exploits should be rewarded if you are the first to do so. He admited to abusing them so obviously he will be punished for it too.
I had my suspicions about Aeb but to be quite frank but I never played with him enough that I knew for sure before this. And then this happens and I have no more guild leader.

Being outright outed by someone in a thread first doesn't exactly make his gesture of "Fessing up and spilling the beans" as noble as you want to believe.

This game is way to old for me to care about exploits and cheating frankly. I enjoyed all the time we messed around together mang even if i've been gone for ages XD! Hopefully you'll reconsider after a time since your RP and pulling the server into plots and stories and even just a slight change in settings with the server kicking and screaming the entire time will sorely be missed :3. In either case, have a good break man, kick your feet up on the beach and suck on some mojito's, we'll be here if and when you decide to come back ^^,
Keneki Koga- Fighting his inner devil. RETIRED Emma Sxn'Tubxs- Suppressing her emotions.Theme! Yuki- Probably sniffing you from a distance. Varus Montell- Probably blowing himself up with a new bomb
Yes i am aware that I was outed in a post a bit earlier before i made this post but i will assure you that the prior post of someone talking of my exploit of casting in shape change was little influence to me openly admitting to my mistakes. . . But i will admit that yes it was indeed a push forward.
If you were a part of the DM or the QC team you would know ive been breaking the rules, exploiting and cheating for a LONG time. . . Almost 4-5 years now. . . The main issue with this is even though having the power in game due to the exploits allowing me to solo white dragon and also the Great Red Dragon a few events ago that was not suppose to be soloable. . . The guilt from doing this for so long for a server that has been building up stress. . . And has built up the guilt factor more and more over the years. . .
Ive had so many chances. . . Too many to be exact. . . And every-time I'm done my previous banned sentence I would simply tell myself "Oh but this time. . ." But as you can see every time i try to reassure myself I don't do these things they end up happening in the long run. . .
So instead of the causing both the DM team and the QC team more head ache i decided to just make an open statement that Ive done wrong, I admit i did wrong, and I know ill do wrong again so instead i'm going to have to go because I love this server and i love the community but i can't stand my MMORPG mindset giving me bad vibes and a bad mind here.
Royalty? No it was simply an Election.
