Appearance Changer Bugged an Item during Crash

Unread post by Winterborne »

Hi, I was editing an item's appearance via the appearance kit tool when the server crashed. I didn't lose the item, but now it has a permanent quiver. I tried all the usual tricks to remove the quiver (making sure I wasn't wearing a belt, equipping/unequipping, etc) to no avail. I decided to give up and go back to the original item editor using the player menu and when I tried to change the appearance, I got an error:

"vn_base: Error: Base armor value not found."

And was promptly locked out of editing appearances.

Item in question is an Epic Robe of Blending if that is relevant information.

Try to set the basic look to robe/cloth with the appearance kit first.
Then use the old one (to remove the quiver).

I did this, still get the error message.

There are two possible solutions. You can ask a DM to replace the item with a stock copy of itself, or if you want to PM me your username and character name I can muck around in your character file and fix it. In the second case it would be helpful for me if you logged out while wearing the robe so I don't have to dig through the inventory too much to find it. :) Just catch a DM in game or shoot me a message if you still need help.

ive got the same error... but it goes further.
This was bugged out when trying to change Greenleaf armour.
When unequipping EVERYTHING, im still viewed as wearing the same armour, with slightly different colours, and a quiver.
It's not showing me in the 'base tunic' that represents unequipped people.

Yeah, that happens sometimes, but is it a problem at all? Usually when you equip an armor it will override that 'bugged base appearance'.

As above, it's a display issue, not a duplicated armor. It shouldn't affect anything but the way your character appears when not wearing any equipment. When you equip new armor, it will change your appearance again.

Somehow your "unarmored" appearance got written over by your normal appearance (assuming you're normally in your armor).

Yep, its changed again since ive got new armour too.
Now the 'base' appearance doesnt look so awkward , looks rather plain. But yes, thanks, most of the time there won't be a situation where the toon will be unarmored.
