Re: Athktatlan Triparite
Ah, with the intense EW/Evasion discussions underway, I figured these melee feats might be off the radar a bit. Thanks.

Per Valefort next update AT and SF should have BAB requirements removed. Fair warning to understand that if you don't have the minimum BAB the feat won't (or shouldn't) do anything, but at least it won't force you to waste an epic feat any more.
enjoy!

Any RCR's for those that built before this old requirement was "discovered?"chad878262 wrote:Per Valefort next update AT and SF should have BAB requirements removed. Re: Athktatlan Triparite
Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but when you lose your 3 attacks (for a character with BAB 26+), do your remaining 3 attacks get split into the usual 1/1/1 sequence? Or would it be 2/1/0? My character has a feat to burn at level 29. He's a HIPSter with 7d6 sneak attack dice, so losing an attack in the first flurry would probably make the feat not worth it. But he does think of himself as a stand up fighter more than a sneaker, so I'm torn. Deadly defense just might be better. Or the stealthy feat. Or the one where small races can stab at feet, that one seems funny.

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
I haven't looked at the combat log closely enough (and I tested it ages ago). I would recommend trying it out in JEGS, or perhaps someone who has the feat and 3 APR can let you know how many of those are landing in the first flurry, and / or how many count for sneak attacks coming out of stealth. My assumption would be that with 3 APR your flurries would be 1/1/1, making it less appealing for a single weapon wielding sneak attacker, however, if you are a PTWF sneak attacker:
If you have a PC using AT and PTWF with 10APR, you will have 3 with the main hand and 5 with the offhand (8 total, 3 sneak attacks). Based on how the NWN engine usually works the sneak attacks will still all come from the main hand in the first furry, then you would get 3 off hand attacks in the second and 2 in the third flurry of the round. Essentially you are giving up your 4th sneak attack (which is made at your AB - 15) in order to gain the benefits of AT. If you don't have Expose Weakness it is certainly something to consider.

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
After testing in JEGS, I can confirm that it does properly split up your remaining attacks into a 1/1/1 flurry sequence. Popping Haste will get you your 2nd sneak attack out of stealth back with a 2/1/1 sequence, but overall it's still probably not worth it in terms of optimization if you are a HIPSter who is only using a single weapon.
