Need help with the IG book system
Okay so I was looking through the forums and thus far haven't found an answer but basically what happened was I bought a book to use as a sort of journal and before i started writing in an attempt to erase the sample text I accidentally ended up erasing all the pages and their numbers aswell but now I cant seem to get them to come back nor will any of the information I type in appear on the pages. Can someone assist me with the commands for the books? I know the whole <language:dwarf> thing but I cant seem to get the pages command.

Re: Need help with the IG book system
As an author of more than 25 IG books I think I can help here :3
Page formatting is simple as the command:
You then need to save the document and after it refreshes you can view your formatting. You can place the command in the middle of a sentence, eg:
It took me a while to figure it out with trial & error, but you'll get there.
Usually I type my whole work out first, then go back and format the text to fit into the individual GUI pages just by sight: I look for the last word in a paragraph/sentence I want to be on that page, and then add the next page command immediately after it, save, review, and then continue with the next page until all my text fits nicely into one page each. You can look at some of my works IG for an example (just not Mystran Dogmatics, they were my first two books and the formatting is horrible
)
At times the book GUI will appear empty (or a single page will appear empty): don't worry about this as it is an occasional bug but it will not affect the final work (and relogging will fix it).
Remember that colour <C=ColorNameHere></C>, bold <B></B> and italic <I></I> all work as well. Languages seem to be bugged (or maybe just for my character) the last time I tried to use them.
If you don't have any pages coded, no text will appear in the book GUI.
So make sure the first word in EVERY book is <page:1> before you type the rest out.
Have fun now!
Page formatting is simple as the command:
Code: Select all
<page:1>
<page:2>
<page:3> etc.Code: Select all
"And when the evil red wizard lifted his arms <page:3>to cast the spell at the Harper, I took my blade out of my boot and shivved him in the fifth rib."Usually I type my whole work out first, then go back and format the text to fit into the individual GUI pages just by sight: I look for the last word in a paragraph/sentence I want to be on that page, and then add the next page command immediately after it, save, review, and then continue with the next page until all my text fits nicely into one page each. Re: Need help with the IG book system
I think it could be appropriate to ask this in this thread too...
From time to time I see items sold at the auctions, where the item's names have a color. I know how to do that in book texts.
How can one do that for an item's name (it does not seem to be possible with the <c=></c> commands, as they do not seem to work with the DMFI tool)?

You can only change colours in item descriptions using the DMFI renaming function (using the same commands as above). It does not allow coloured text in item names, though. Such items are coded that way by the dev team in their respective resrefs before they're added to the module as prospective loot drops.

Ah, thanks anyway.
Too bad somehow, as I really liked the option to color the item names in the nwn2 base game.
