Can't auto download update

So I just finished installing windows 10 a lil bit ago and I'm going through re-installing alot of stuff.... got NWN 2 and 1 reinstalled but I can't download the updates for this server via the auto installer thing.... What do I do?

Use the Hak, module, campaign, tlk directory contents instead.

oh I did that already.... so I don't need to touch the staged part?

The staged directory is what the in game automatic downloader is using.

This is the error code I get even after downloading all of that stuff ....

The following error occurred: The requested URL returned error:404 unable to DL campaign.cam from any supplied location. Please contact server admin@ [email protected]

I even thought to make a folder that says BG in the campaigns folder to put the cam file into and it still gives me that same error code... I'm at a loss as to how to proceed with this. I've never not had the auto updater work when I was on Windows 7. I'm using the same GOG version of the game... I don't get it.

Hey WhatsInTheBox, you can download the .cam file here:

Once you've downloaded it, put it in your Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/Campaigns/BG folder. It should be the only file in the "BG" folder.

You also want to make sure you're saving this to the Documents/My Documents section of your computer, not the C: drive where it installed. Let me know if this doesn't work for you!

Wait whaa.... but my NWN isn't in my documents... its on the C drive.... ?

Ok so I have it in the campaigns/BG folder and I also made a campaigns and BG Folder in my documents section.... and its still giving me the same error code...

The C:/Program Files/Neverwinter Nights 2 folder is not where the downloads go. The server never touches those files.

It's wherever you installed the game for saves and personal overrides.

For most people this is in Documents/My Documents. If yours isn't in there, you'll want to do some looking around. If you do a search of your computer for "bg_S1.tlk" it should bring you to the rough area you need to be (the place where the server's autodownloader previously installed its files).

Yea its under C:/GOG Games/ and there is both NWN 2 Complete and Neverwinter nights 2 complete for whatever reason, both folders seem to have exactly the same files. and then from there I put the cam file in BOTH folders mentioned above under campaigns/BG and they are the only file in said folder

If someone is up for it my skype is king_of_aquilonia if they wanted to help me fix this issue because I have no idea what to do... nothing seems to be working. At this point it seems I'm going to be forced to stop playing NWN 2 because I just can't get it to work.
