Twilight Rose Public RP Thread

A little chaotic how the talk with the friendly young woman finally happened. First the phoenix company was mentioned, also a certain name fell who recommended her here. But when it became clear to her who works here and that she already knows some crew members, they could sort it out. In the end they made a decision, the Twilight Rose had a new head cook and chaplain.
Her clothing would change properly to what she is currently doing. Aprons or light clothes in the kitchen, robes when on duty as a youngpriest. The armour would only be worn while traveling or when danger could come.

Alongside the usual orders she would work on a plan for the next tendays with the part-time cook. For today she would assist with what is already planned. For tomorrow she would cook as the dish of the day:
Shepherd Pie.

Other orders would still be possible. She would gladly listen to the crew members and guests, what they like or not like. She would also take care, if there are intolerances, so noone would get sick after eating her food.

She would be open to different wishes and suggestions as well as simply talking to people who come and go, to get to know them. See how she could help or if she could offer healing.

No more hungry mouths

From up now the kitchen is fully taken over by Freya and the parttime cook. To lug away dishes and groceries unseen won't be so easy anymore. She would note if something is missing to order replacement in case it is needed more or for longer. She seems to do that not just to prove point, more to keep things running so everything is there, that is needed.

For the crew members and guests might often smell fresh bread in the morning, sweet pancakes, eggs or other things. In the evening the cooks would still use the leftovers and warm what is possible for those who come later.
Alongside there would be different desserts sometimes. In a basket in the kitchen there would also always be small thinigs like cookies, small cakes, smoked sausages in bread coat or other treats.
The usual orders are still possible as long as the condiments are available in these lands.

Also there would be a plan for the every new tenday, every day simply named by its number. These would be the dishes of the day, listed openly on a blackboard:

Two things are for sure, someone tries to avoid onesided food and change is given. Also noone has to go hungry here.

Captain Thatcher would walk the halls of the ship with Juniper beside him as they made their way to a booth for dinner. The couple would be in high spirits, as they often are, when in each others company. They sat to enjoy pulled pork with salad in bread. Talking, laughing, the captain doing anything he can to make his woman giggle and blush. He lived lately for those simpler things like the affection in her eyes, it made everything else manageable.

They'd ardently thank Freya for her fine food selection and her amazing work aboard the ship so far. Juniper would tell Freya she should serve fish -every- day, much to a grumbling, smoldering glare from the captain, only to have it lighten when he saw that beautiful sparkle in June's eyes. Juniper's girlish giggle ensued and she informed Freya of his dislike of fish, having spent to many years living off fish and little else. Aidan told Freya not to take it off the menu, he'd manage and it's a staple of every harbor diet. "people come to the docks for the catch of the day, lass.", he'd be heard throughout the main floor. He'd not leave before he made it known that she was doing a marvelous job once more, with a Nod Nod! from his Gond girl.

Following that they'd ask for a report from Big John, ask him how the works suiting him and further make small talk which leads to the two men hurling insults at one another while laughing uproarious, Juniper would look back and forth in confusion with her classic "Wh.....", and laugh when she got they were just teasing one another like old comrades were often known to do.

The couple hand in hand visited the entertainment stage and had some hushed, delicate words with Syringa who both were quite fond of, while her brother Khukuri would add to the conversation and then suggest a presentation of one of the acts they'd planned for the stage. Agreeing to watch it Aidan held Juniper infront of him, arms around her belly, chin on top of her head. Elora who'd agreed to work with the two on their bit, played a drum culturally attached to Calimshan giving it a very fast pace and wild beat.

Khukuri used magic to cause a great deal of hidden blades upon his person to float into the air infront of him, hovering, his hands would wave and circle about and the blades would move with the motion. Some spun, some scraped by eachother, others revolved in circles around the blade magi, he watched his sister across the stage as she set up a board behind her person and then in slow fashion began to dance with her Scimitar in hand making arching beautiful motions about her body.




The blade dancer gracefully gyrated her hips, her feet moving turning her in small motions till her back was towards her brother, he made a small flick of the fingers and a blade spun wickedly towards her, just to graze past her face. There was a gasp and startled jerk from Juniper, a gasp as well from Syringa as she looked towards her brother, but it was obvious it was part of the act. She turned towards him, her dancing continued with her blade snaking around her body, wreathing and plying past muscle and bone. Her brother flicked his fingers thrice more. This time her blade shot up, deflected one that landed at her feet, deflected another crashing somewhere beyond her, and the third hurtled it's way towards Khukuri who caught it in his hand.

He screamed out some words only those of their dialect would understand, he flung the kukri he held at her, and at the same time with his other hand in a forward thrust motion of force sent the remaining five blades her way, around her form each nearly cutting her, she stood motionless as every blade flew past her body and embedded hard into the wood prop she'd put up. Both smiled, then turned towards the captain and Juniper, bowing. Juniper could do little but laugh nervously and look at concern towards Syringa or "Syra" as she'd taken to calling her, to be sure the woman was harmed in no way, like she were Juniper's prized posession. Which in a way was very true as Aidan had hired her to both dance and protect Juniper.

Having thanked the performers for their work, talked to the waiting staff, and then went below to oversee Vala and the guards. He'd take a bit of time to sit with Juniper on his lap and listen to the drills and instructions given, Nodding in agreeance so that the crew of soldiers saw the Captain supports his Man-At-Arms. He'd later suggest that as Gaven had a time back suggested, the ship would need to restrict weapons.

Peace Tie was not enough, he'd have a chest near the stairs down and They'd be unarmed before they reached the inside landing, anyone still armed when they were within the ship, would be considered hostile. He'd wait to see how that panned out with his Master-At-Arms and see if she had any other suggestions, he'd inform everyone of his being impressed with their work and then end the afternoon with a bit of time alone in the lounge, taking turns reading a book with his Juniper, the title being something about Sailing Adaptations. Regardless of the book they seemed much more interested in kissing, cooing and murmured suggestions.

Freya would answer, with a smile to both. She was gald if the couple liked her food and her work. She would blink at the tellings about the captains food favors. She would grin, as if she remebered and thinks a moment.
Shee woukd say, she wouldn't take fish off the menu plan, as some crew members said they liked fish themselves. So there would be something with fish once per tenday for them.
Also - as long as there is a gnome or more on borad, she tries herself with things that gnomes can eat as well. Given the fact, some seem to have some certain racial intolerance to sweet things.
So everyon shall find something they like in the plan.

As she leaves to clean the kitchen after the evening and the performances, she mutters into her not existing beard: "Oh wait, Cilian. Oh wait..." why so ever.

After she returned from her trip with the vampire hunters she seemed still friendly, but also unusual quiet and thoughtful. She even would rent a room, fexplaining she needed times for herself for a few days. She wouldn't completely be out of this world and still do her work.
But she also took herself hours to be alone. Whatever happened there, only the participants might know. But something was up. What it was, one might have to ask.

Vala walks through the quiet ship searching for her Captain. It was late but she knew he sometimes still was up at this hour working on an array of things... She wanders to a few different areas when she finally spots him....

"Captain?" She smiles as she approaches him. "I did it..." She hands him a sealed scroll that included several sheets of parchment. "The new schedule." She grins proudly. "Let me know if you want any changes made ... not much leeway to give but I'm sure I can figure something out if you have any preferences. I was able to get you your six men."

After some more plans and details were discussed they part ways and Vala is seen taking one last round talking to the Guards working through the night. After she is happy that they had what they needed, she headed back to her room. She knew she had to step it up in security this week and that she too had some long shifts ahead of her....

Vala is often seen, when off duty, enjoying a slice of banana bread and if she has a chance to sit and eat would thoroughly and completely be enjoying a piece of cheesecake.

Security on the Twilight Rose has been increased (noticable by more Guards posted as well as more routine checks by the Master-at-Arms) but only those that pay close attention would notice as the crew tries to keep a relaxed atmosphere both inside and around the ship.

Vala is frequently seen checking on her Guards asking if they need anything and taking extra shifts both as planned and as needed.

At the end of two weeks, Vala makes a new schedule for the Guards. The immediate increase of shifts has settled and although still heightened, has a better flow to it as the Guards adjust to the extra shifts. She delivers each guard a copy, either by hand or by post, and asks them to get back to her if they would like it anything adjusted.

A singing cook?

A new plan of the week is set up bey Freya. As she didn't get any wishes or suggestions these days, she simply put up her own ideas. Well, there someone seems to have a mostly northern tenday this time.

As alone as she was often on the ship the last days, she began to entertain herself. So if someone would disappear and walk by the kitchen, one could hear the cook sing in there. Either someone tries to keep the mood up or is practising for something...or both. In any case, this seem to be a new habit.

Up from the next day there will be:

Busy crew, busy cook

Freya barely hears or sees what the others do, even the captain and his future wife she could only see shortly and not on the right way to talk ver much. But it motivated her to go on with her work.

Sometimes she spoke with Jasper the cat or the parttime cook. She gave the animal time to get used to her, if the little guy was in the mood, she dared to stroke him. But she never picked him up as long as he seemed healthy besides what that poor cat had to bear in his past.

She kept singing during her work, her voice grew and found her own sound which has unusually lighter than the one she speaks with. Then again when her work for the day is done and the parttime cook is at work, she goes out.

All alongside new plan is hung out for the next tenday.

Ever since Freya was the Rose's cook, the ship's tinkerer was the first one found sitting at the table... fork, spoon, knife and a whole bag with nifty tools within reach. She didn't even wait for the gong to be around anymore!

Once arrived in the dining area, her belly would always growl and she squirmed in her seat as delicious scents circled throughout the place. It was crazy, like as if a hunger had been ever-present during the entire day...like she was some starving wolf whose fur and belly was so thin and meager that it clung to her frame like a jacket in a storm.

That much she looked forward to Freya's creations, and that good they smelled. This day was just the same, Juniper sitting on her chair, swinging her legs as she looked in the direction of the kitchen, eagerly waiting for another full menu parade...

Vala and Michael leave the Twilight Rose ship with their trunks, chests and belongings. She wears a smile as she comes across people in the harbor. She of course makes smalltalk and tells them that she and Michael had decided to leave the Twilight Rose for business reasons. She tells about how much fun she had even if it was hard at times and that she is looking forward to her next big adventure.

A box is delivered for the Twilight Rose and its crew by two ladies, one with medium brown hair and the other a redhead. They would both state themselves as Tellae Ranloss and Ronja Leonhart, both greeting everyone on their way with a bright smile. Miss Tellae being unusually giggly and nearly bouncing her way onboard and inside the ship. It is mentioned that it is an invitation from a miss Vala Reyer and a mister Michael Dunn. A flyer is also handed over together with the invitation.

Priestess Perle Wynn has returned to her suite in the Twilight Rose, this time with a wizard in tow. She leaves him at the suite to sleep while she conducts midnight mass at low tide. The Dread Wavecaller does not return until sunrise.
