Found this on Youtube and its pretty good. One of the better scenes from Baldur's Gate 2 but with a much better engine.

Wow... What a disappointment. They were going to re-do the whole game but the last update was about 3.5 years ago. RIP Remake.

yep, happens fairly often. I think some modders fail to realize just how HUGE of a game BGII is. I think there is a BGI remake in the NWN2 engine and they also planned to remake BGII, but my guess is that faltered as well.
Recently the excellent folks over at Co8 (modding for ToEE) were looking at remaking infinity engine games, but luckily they decided to try and tackle Icewind Dale I instead of Baldur's Gate series, which is a much more sizable bite to chew on IMO. Haven't checked on that in a while, but I hope they are successful, the ToEE engine was buggy as hell, but they've done a great job making it much more stable and playing Icewind Dale in true turn-based D&D fashion would be pretty sweet.

Team seems very commited!chad878262 wrote:Good to know!
Will take until 2018 or 2019 most likely nevertheless. Which sucks, considering I already planned chars to play BG 1 and 2 when it will get released.
On a side note, I really should finish other rpgs like Pillars of Eternity in the meantime... Outside this server it is, without some days off work, rather difficult to get in the mood....

In case anyone is interested, it appears Icewind Dale is available for an open beta at co8 here:

Edit: Requires that you have temple of elemental evil, available at good old games.
