Embrace the wild (ranger lv1 spell)

Unread post by Scorpius »

Hi

on the description of this spell it says that it gives plenty of bonuses...
but I'm not sure they all take effect when activated...

spell description

Caster Level(s): Rgr 1
Innate Level: 1
School: Transmutation
Components: Verbal
Range: Personal
Target: Self
Duration: 1 minute / level

Upon casting the spell, you gain the senses of animal creatures. You gain low-light vision and blind-fighting. You also gain a +2 bonus on Listen and Spot checks.
While picturing a certain kind of animal in your mind, you cry out in imitation of its most common call. Immediately thereafter, you perceive your surroundings as the animal you imagined would.

The part that seems to be buggy is the
BLIND-FIGHTING
ability that it is supposed to give...

how I tested it...

I casted Darkness and then embrace the wild and tried to melee...

surprise... I can't...

so blind fighting is, I think, not doing his job... or I don't understand some mechanics lol

anyway... if someone can put some light into this dark I would apreciate

Thank you

Blind Fighting (feat) does nothing in magically created darkness except permit a reroll on missed concealment checks. Only the Blindsight (it used to be Ultravision) & True Seeing spells can pierce the zone and permit actual attacks.

If you had Blindsight active in a darkness zone, Blind Fighting would let you reroll the miss chance for other types of concealment (eg. 50% for Displacement/Improved Invisibility).
