Wiz 30 Epic feat choice

Hi there,

here is the plain 30 wiz i am currently levelling (actually lvl 10 right now) http://nwn2db.com/build/?258772

It's a simple build i may say but focusing on DC it should be fun to play (i am not yet a good caster player but i want to learn).

My question is would be better to pick epic spell Gate or entropic husk? anyone experienced with those spells could share his toughts about them? I have seen there has been changes with summonning spells so maybe epic gate is more reliable now?

Or even if would be better to get one epic spell focus (i would like to have at least one epic spell though).

Epic Spell: Greater Ruin

24 spellcraft, 9th level spells

You deal 50D6 positive damage to a single enemy. The Fortitude DC is 25+ability modifier. 3 uses per day, cooldown 2 minutes. Spell Resistance does apply.

Epic Spell: Call Lightning Storm

27 spellcraft, 9th level spells

You deal 35D6 Eleectric damage to all enemies in a massive area of effect. The Reflex DC is 34+ability modifier. 3 uses per day, cooldown 2 minutes. Spell Resistance does apply.

With regard to which epic spell to pick, in addition to just reviewing them all, realize that outside of Vampiric Feast no epic spell is going to be quite as 'epic' as you might like... For instance, when looking at the two spells listed above, note that 50d6 damage equates to an average of 175 on a failed save, while 35d6 equates to an average of 122.5 (though can hit multiple enemies). So, outside of PvP (and even including PvP really), none of the epic spells are going to be better than avasculate, wail, weird, etc. Heck, on a failed save disintegrate does 40d6 and it's a level 6 spell...

Point is not to turn you off from taking an epic spell, it's simply to ensure you understand for the most part they are RP flavor (Outside of vamp feast)

I mean, Vamp feast is necromancy, epic gate conjuration and entropic husk as well conjuration, since my wiz will have spell focus in both these schools what about greater ruin and lightining storm? Are maybe evocation?

It won't matter. Spell Focus Feats mean nothing when calculating Epic Spells' DC

I decided to switch it with an epic spell focus. I will choose the school i use more often between Conjuration and Necromancy.
