No RP XP in Blade and Stars

Unread post by Steve »

Hopefully this is helpful in the management of XP things:

Today, with 4 other players, I had a 1.5+ hour RP/chat session, and my Character did not earn a single point of RP XP. We were all within feet of each other, and not a single tick of XP.

It was my understanding the Inns and Taverns had RP XP increased, overall, in whatever mechanics are currently set. So, if something is being toggled around and experimented with, please feel free to ignore this report. Otherwise...it seems something is a bit off!

It occurred to me that one needs to be in a Party/group, for RP XP to fire at an increased rate. Is this true?

That used to be the case -- that is, you never had to be in a party, but you did have a higher RP XP cap when you were with larger groups of people.

You've always earned RP XP at the same rate (we did just raise it by 20 xp per tick). But you no longer have a cap based on group size. Now there's just a universal cap.

Not sure why you didn't get any RP XP, though. Luck of the draw? Unless others can confirm this area is not giving out RP XP when RP occurs there?

I know if two people are on the same 'bench' it bugs out RP XP. Dunno why! But for example if one person sits left and one person sits right on a couch. Neither will get RP XP. Maybe that could have been what occured

I was sitting on the chair adjacent for the whole time Steve described and got 3-4 ticks of RP XP so that sounds like a feasible culprit.

Apologies to anyone who had to endure Tanithe's bombastic prattle for hours with nothing to show for it.

My toon WAS sitting on a bench the whole time! But, he was the only one on the bench, others were sitting in a chair or standing.

Well, I'm convinced now that benches are what causes the no RP XP issue—been back in the Blade & Stars standing, and the RP XP just rolls on and on and on and on.

Damn benches.
