No music?!

Disclaimer: I've no idea if this is the right forum for this kind of post.

I have the strangest bug. Mostly, not always but mostly, I can't hear any music in the game, even if it's supposed to be playing. When I launch the game music plays in the menu and I can hear each click of a button, but once I've logged in I usually get no music, no sound when pressing anything in the UI, and yet somehow combat effects and voices do play!

And when I record a video with sound, the music is there in the video even if I couldn't hear it. playing while I recorded it!

If there's anyone who's experienced this and has any ideas... probably unlikely, but on the offchance, I'd love to hear them ^^

Turn on i-Tunes/ YouTube in the background. Problem solved.

There's a difference between solving a problem and sidestepping it :p I'd like to have the option to hear the awful background music if I want to!

did you check your gameoptions music slider ?

Do you have BMUs existing in your music directory?

284 of them. And the music does play in videos I've recorded.

Try a change of the audio engine.

The other two sound providers give me no sound at all. DirectSound does, but no music or button clicks.
