I also want to thank everyone who attended the battle! It's nice to have battle lines and perimeter scouts and all the strategy things we did actually work.

I want to send some love to both LOBO and CREO for the demon battle! There were a few hiccups at the start, but in the end... I think folks had a good time!

I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to DM Rosette, last night he took over one of my plots half way through on very short notice -- I want to applogies to the players involved, my Cilent has become so unstable recently it is making it very difficult to DM smoothly if I have 2 - 4 crashes every 5 mins, this is something I am looking into.

I would like to say "Thank you" to Valefort for showing me around a bit of Paris that I would not have otherwise seen and taking me to a couple of places for some fantastic food and deceptively strong beers! Cheers Valefort, tomorrow morning I leave your beautiful city with wonderful memories, thank you for sharing a few of them!

I want to say a thankyou to Elder Doom for his journal thread. Its well written, atmospheric, and captures the faith of the Lord of Bones to a tee.

I want to give a huge shout out to DM Wagnar, one of the oldest DMs on the team. His ability to set up a challanging and well paced dungon crawl event is UNCANNY, never have I seen a DM able to put down objects and items so fast.
I also want to thank him for sticking with his plot with PC for all this time and seeing it to its end.

Allright you lot. You've SOLD me. It's been years coming, but you finally sold me.
I hit 15th or so on Toman recently, and figured "Well, I'm at the rock bottom of this level. Let's go be stupid!" and figure out what areas are going to just flat out slaughter me just for pokin' my nose in, like what happened in my previous server, and what areas I can actually fight a bit at BEFORE I die.
Wow. What a difference.
I roamed around into a brand new area, and fought some hard fights. I survived, but I got through it with difficulty. Then I ran into some sort of acid dragon. Fought it AND the others off for a while, but it eventually breathed on me (70hp!) and literally melted me into a puddle.
So, I poked around in a slightly lower difficulty area, and was SHOCKED to see that, hey, it's actually BALANCED right, and I'm not going to get slaughtered instantly, nor is it too difficult. It's a challenge, but not potion chugging so.
So, I roamed around a while, fought some things, and while they didn't hurt me much, they did get through my armor here and there, and I had to work to get em down. Roamed a bit more, and ran into a squad of hostiles that actually did a number on me alone. With a group, I doubt I'd have had a problem.
All in all guys and gals, you've got a mighty good thing goin' here. Don't screw it up.

I actually used the book writing for the first time yesterday and I really like it, could use some copy pasting but nonetheless it's very nice to have it ingame.
Oh and another thing that would make it evergreen better in my opinion is if one couldn't scroll down on the pages but rather just use a next page but that's just another minor thingy.
So yea thanks.

Re: Thread of infinite appreciation!!
I've been playing regularly on this server for four years now (2009-2010, 2014-present) with a four year hiatus between 2010-2014.
The retirement of my 2nd main, Aeili (because my first was a halfling champion of Arvoreen, Kemi, which only the oldest of the old would remember) may have been a shock to some of you, but in fact it had been impending since about the end of 2015. It was fantastic, absorbing and engaging RP by talented players including, but not limited to: Nomster, Colonic, Grymhild, Tantive, Ravial, TarnishedSoul, Hidennika, Ariella, Hoihe, Grimcheese, Legofsalmon, BlackHorizon, Truthiness, Syracuse, MedalofValor, Miasmata, Solaris, Invoker, Pimple, MrM3ntalist, Deathgrowl, Dagesh, PiaMango, CommanderK, NeonAvenger, Celduil, InsanID, Febriel, Snarfy, TheKai, Peccator & nameless others who made me persist so long with such a frail, flawed and merchanically hopeless character (seriously, who takes Greater Spell Focus: Divination?)
A thankyou too to some of Aeili's cameo foes: JCVD1 (Kahanak), Kagger, Wolfshear (Selengil) & assorted Sharrans. You could have made Aeili's life much harder than it was, but everything you did was done in good spirits which I appreciate still. Even now I'm mastering the art of -avoiding the metagame- and to react to things IC-ONLY, and folks like you help keep the goodies on their toes.
Further, there are some who helped me when I played Shez, my UD alt: Halo-Deity, Israe, maseoo, ctothep, Aurali, BigJ, Lux, fog, Storm Munin, DreWalker, Illithid + more. UD is a tough gig and I hope to be playing more casually amongst you now that I am no longer dedicating time to Aeili on the surface.
I also cannot pass by the list of DM names with whom I've corresponded, as evidenced by my copiously full inbox: Dialectic, Golem, Theophanies, DMogorgon, Boo, PunPun, Bloodlust, Ioulaum, Ghost, Arrakeen, Galatea, Eminence, Lobo, Creo & Soulcatcher. I'm was never greatest fan of random events and often tried to avoid them IG, but whenever I asked for something to bolster a plot I was discreetly involved in or a personal quest of some kind, there was always an (eventual!) answer and always several hours of RP enjoyment resulting from it. I look forward to the day I can rejoin your ranks, which will probably be sooner rather than later
Lastly, such an immense thank you note would be incomplete without a shout of gratitude to some of the retired vets before me from whom I learnt how to actually RP rather than just being a wandering, hopeless newbie: Cort Thundershot, Charraj, Rokranon, Maecius, Leslie, Wolfenote, Abby Winters, TarnishedSoul Players like you are why I am still here, even though most of you are not, and why I think even when I stop playing on the server at all (it will come one day), I will probably be haunting the forums as a crotchety DM, moderator or administrator like some of you have, and are still
THANK YOU BGTSCC for taking 4 years of my life away. It's been great fun most of the journey.
PS: Just in case you missed it I am not leaving the server; just becoming a little more irregular in my appearances thereon. And now back to editing 23,000 words of Aeili's finale into a forum post...

Re: Thread of infinite appreciation!!
To those of you who don't know -- today is a special day (atleast it is to me) as The final chapter of the Scarlet Riddle plot has offically come to an end. It has been a wild ride with atleast 30 players from all different backgrounds and time zones, all playing their part behind the lines.
It has been hard work -- but seeing how involved everyone has been, contacting me throught he forums and arranging events really makes me proud of the community here. Although the DMs may run the events -- it is the players that make them happen. I want to give a few special shout outs to a few of the players who have been constantly getting involved and following up on even small details.
The people I want to thank are: TarnishedSoul (Alexandra Keenan), Alurianna (Vala Reyer), ArtemiTavik (Derik Ranloss), Sapper Woody (Reineke Ingenium), YourMoveHolyMan (Michael Dunn), Eawd (Amenthes Serb), ALL of candlekeep working on the sidelines, and all the players who were following up on the events via messages on the forums.
I also want to give out a HUGE, thank you to HamsterHyde (Nixiteria) who has not been on this server for very long, but was constantly chasing me up for events and constantly RPing leads with players - she played a huge part behind the lines and if I could award a medal for the effort she was putting in -- she would get gold, so good job HamsterHyde!
Thank you to those who stayed through till the end of the battle last night (It was a loooong night for me!) on the island, The demon prince had 100 AC and 80 AB, 10k hp and 50+ str, dex, con -- I was expecting you all to get wiped! I was actually expecting you to attack Scarlet, but non of you did -- little joys like this is what makes DMing so thrilling; seeing how players react and plan, I do hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Good job figuring out the Errol plotline before it was too late otherwise if you opted to fight the demon he would have had +40 extra damage per hit, and I dare say it would have been...chaos (pun intended)

We had a blast, Lobo! Thank you for the wild rollercoaster of a plot that started during your first tenure as a DM!

But really, kudos to you for the complexity of your plot. It's always fun to figure out the twist just in time!
