Definitely a no from me. It sounds like it will be a nightmare to police and end up as an unused area once PvP griefers start going there. It's basically an open invitation to promote griefing and OOC PvP. Adds absolutely nothing to RP that isn't already present. Plenty of suggestions on other places to go if you want this type of game play.

That is the basis of a whole-hearted no from me, please.

This idea pops up now and again, and is always just as bad as it always is. Flasmix is entirely correct in how this will affect players. Whenever PvP gets out of hand, people leave. Either from losing too much, being obnoxious winners or just OOC grievances. And this suggestion would bring out the worst, simply because it would allow the worst to be brought out.

PvP is needed. Always it is a part of this game.

Also how can you be sure it gives nothing to rp, as this was not introduced yet?

I would not like a ooc pvp area maybe we should have a few rules to prevent pvp for the sake of curbstomping and pvp with out meening.

But i still very mutch like the idea to have something to fight over be it a mine of what ever place or resorces.

Yet does this idea really need the PvP rules dropped? "Leave now or we are going to force you out of the mine" is an adequate way to bring up hostility to provide an RP out. If they don't leave... PvP time. Or even just *Walks up, gripping their sword, looking like they are about to strike.*

How is getting nailed when you look away from the computer for a moment a better story?

"I made an rp build" How is that our fault that you only made your character a squishy tree hugging love bug in a world full of mercenaries/monsters/killers/bandit etc.

Second, if you want pvp to be open just put it in your description that you can be attacked whenever the opponent wants. Third, most people will say no to pvp in wilderness being open, because some areas are needed to get to their villages. Which is great for ambushes if you know where they need to head out from, but again. Crying ninnys. Finally an ooc pvp area is horrible, what rp will it bring? Not only that but the ones that keep coming back after dying. They should actually roleplay the damage to respect the fact that they were attacked instead of being. "Yeah I won with 5 health meaning: I can just walk it off" Dude, roll on the floor and start gasping, you almost died. You're not the final boss in a videogame that gets harder to fight the more health you take away from them.

edit: stupid typos

If DM's are active there to keep things balanced, I would support it. Somewhere in the Upperdark that is a mix of UD and surfacer players, with aftermath of PVP enforced to enhance RP would be nice. Best RP comes from conflict, but some people can't stand losing.

CASH ME OUSSIDE HOW BOW DAH

A tempuran arena or dueling squares where characters can settle their disputes would be pretty neat to see, if not entirely in line with fluff. That said, an entire area devoted to pvp ? lolno.

Only if it comes with permadeath strikes. Also, all assassination sshould come with permadeath strikes. Let's end the farce of people not be able to be truly killed.

Before anyone gets too excited (either happy excited or angry excited), this subject hasn't been discussed at all DM-side or developer-side.
