Kingdom of Kraak Helzak Role Play (IC)

Baggar Orcslayer—having contributed to the contest win of the dwarves of the Sword Coast over Orcblooded in the Imp Contest of Spears, and having participated in the escort of Dunhelm Deepsnur from Soubar to the safety of Kraak Helzak—has heard rumor during his norther coast wanderings that the sworn clansmen within Kraak Helzak have made headway in solving the clues to the Imp's treasure hunt...and Baggar sends word to the dwarves involved in this challenge that, once again, Baggar of Clan Orcslayer is willing to pledge his axe to the junta in the north, and, aid in the challenge laid out in this quest for treasure.

It would be good for a gathering to take place to see where this can be taken forward if desired. (Would try and support it with DM if time suits but it could be done without as IG clues present)

A rider in dirt-stained black arrives at the gates of Kraak Helzak on a tired horse.
He speaks briefly with the guardsmen there, and hands them a letter, or delivers it to whomever they suggest.



The trail worn man then tends to his horse and heads to the local inn to spend the night.

* a knight in blue armor can be seen on a brown and white horse approaching krak helzak the knight is not riding the horse at the moment but there seems to be a saddle for it...may be due to the troll issues in the land and such, as he approaches the bridge that on the other side would be Krak Helzak he stops and waits to be approached or to be questioned*

* lone elf approaches Kraak Helzak, cloaked and dripping wet from the constant rain. She walks to the gates and through, entering with the bearing of one who knows the halls. Once inside, she seeks out a guard and asks for audience with the leaders*

*Stout heavily armored Dwarves peer down from the towers watching the man approach the stone bridge. He begins his speech he's given a million times, how many are you, what is your purpose here, do you have any Orc on your personage... The last he'd toss in just to humor himself. This time though he stops before starting when he noticed the armor's markings, waving him inside after pointing to where he'd store his horse....

*The Sky opens up just after the Knight passes within, rain pouring down once more. Less then half an hour had passed when the Dwarven guard's just getting the fires nice and hot heard a signal from the outer gate, with the sound combination noting a single person without cargo. As the Elf approached he readies his list of questions as it seemed to urgent for her, to have her wait in cover before approaching the gate. He recognized the Elf though when she gets closer, and decides to wave her in out of the rain. The guards on the other side could ask the appropriate question.

*The First Dwarf looks back toward the two younger guards*
"Ye know I don't care if it's a Dwarven lass, in the cold snow, with a keg over her shoulder, and three roasted pigs on the other... I'm asking my bloody questions next time!"
"Sure you will Sergeant, of course you will" chuckles one of the wall guards.
"Sooo Sergeant... them pigs... how'd this fictional lass be answerin' ye Orc question?" Asks another Guard, who now dodges a sack of coal tossed at both of them by the Sergeant.
"Bloody young'uns now a day..." the gruff older guard trails off... "and Dam'it, I really want some roasted boar now..."

*he Replies* just who you see a man and his horse, i've come to see Master Revenark, no Orcs today, * and then he moves along to the storage area for the horse and begins to unlash the cart and the barrel*

A sealed missive addressed to "Steward Revenark Stonehold" arrives at Kraak Helzak.
The point of origin shows as "Office of the Guide, Candlekeep."

Upon hearing of a possible sighting of the Stonebar king, King Stonefist XII, to the north Revenark packs up his equipment making double sure he would have what is needed before marching out at once. Like many times in the past this could lead to a dead end, but one worth looking in to all the same. The Kingswarden seeks his purpose, identity, and blood vow, that of his people's King.

He leaves word that his Samman Clanwarden Bagnose Mclaggan will lead the clan in his stead, as he is unsure how long this quest will take. I trust him more then any person in the world, he's heard to say often. He has full support and discretion to form or end alliances, partnerships, and make decrees.

Orin is with me to help speed the journey. The other clan members are asked to remain incase of trouble with the Zhent's arises, if things change with Elturel, or if more of our clansmen finds us here they will need their family nearby.

Rumor has it that Revenark Stonehold, Kingswarden of Stonebar, and Steward of Kraak Helzak is dead. His body was returned to Kraak Helzak, and said to be covered in tattooed runes from a strange source not native of this plain. All attempts were used to restore him, but for whatever reasons they have all failed. Most of the details are kept within clan.

As requested by Revenark long ago, this is to be a private matter. He is not to be displayed, or lamented. His death is to be as a commoner, a servant, and nothing more. To die as he lived.

After the rites of Dumathoin are preformed, his body is to be preserved until those of Stonebar can find a way to return home. Where it will be prepared upon Elben Aator soil and stone, as is traditional his body then burned returning it to the makers forge.

Shortly after the news reaches Candlekeep that Revenark Stonehold has died, Guide Alexandra Keenan commissions a funeral spray of flowers to be sent to the dwarven kingdom of Kraak Helzak on behalf of the library fortress. The springtime medley is magically preserved so that it can stay with or near the body of the fallen steward until the time comes for him to be burned.

Neatly tucked amidst the brightly colored plants is a small parchment that bears dwarven runes written in feminine calligraphy. Translated, the words are:

O'er mountains tall and chasms wide,
lo did the brave 'warden of Stonebar ride.
Beholden to duty, obligated to vow,
failure was something he would never allow.

Ride forth, good dwarf; your clansmen call.
Join them now in the feasting hall.
Raise high your head; do not despair.
Your stalwart honor is needed there.

I shall not cry; I shall not weep.
I will not mourn your eternal sleep.
Come one day we shall meet again
forever my friend you shall always remain.

Marneiros Duskwalker travelled to Kraak Helzak, apparently very sad as he did not even had the opportunity to have a great many drinks with the greatly missed Revenark...

Terri 'Xon, along with her husband and two other companions made a pilgrimage to Kraak Helzak to bid the hero a farewell and drink to his life.

To my dearest adoptive father. You are missed by your loving adopted daughter and will forever hold a place within this girls heart... I will endeavor to remember all the great times we had and mark this day to celebrate your life. forgive me for not bringing Ale, but I brought the next best thing to toast you with. *pulls out a bottle of Phoenix Wine and pops the top, taking a huge swallow. she would then pass the bottle to any who wished to toast Revenark as well * We love you father................ *wipes some wine that dribbled down her check * All praise the king! * After finishing the bottle she leaves the it at the foot of the anvil*
