Build Challenge: Sword Dancer of Eilistraee

Unread post by Lanzlo »

OK, just interested in how this concept would work here on BGTSCC. Found something on NWNDB, but (as usual) it uses stuff that is illegal here. (http://nwn2db.com/build/?184656)

Would be neat if you can squeeze in Eilistraee's favored weapon (bastard sword) but not necessary.

And, go. I'm eager to see what you come up with. :)

Well, you could just make a Bard 26/Cleric 4, pick Luck and Chaos domains for Luck of Heroes and Slipper mind.

You will not get Expose Weakness, and you need to get Practised Spellcaster feat - on that build you could just give Divine Shield for it.

As for leveling order, you can one level of cleric level 3 for Divine Might, and the two other levels at levels 19 and 20 to be withing the server's rules, the last level of cleric could be taken at level 30.

As for ability scores, 16 in both STR and CHA is good enough to reach Epic Divine Might. But you should have at least 14 in dexterity to make most out of a Chainshirt (4/4) or Mithral Chainmail (6/4) on this server. (Base armor / Maximum dexterity bonus)

With all things considered, you are basically just a regular EDM Bard.

I do not think this server has Song of the Heart, or Epic of the Lost King, so you can swap those for another Great Charisma and Strength feats to end up with 22 in both.

You could lower your intelligence to 10, and just add the +1 to any stat you can to make better use of some +3 item. Other than that, I think you are solid.

Song of the heart can be replaced by extend spell and epic of the lost king by divine shield (swap the last cleric level with the last bard level).

Another possibility is to forget about EDM and instead go for epic inspiration and divine shield.

OK, saw this build her: http://nwn2db.com/build/?158173

Seems decent, but I want to throw it to you folks to pick apart.

Also, can you figure out a decent, playable way to get Melodic Casting earlier in the build?

We do not have Melodic Casting, so you can't get it at all, much less earlier... To get an idea of the custom feats available check the wiki or the new/custom feats thread on the forums.

We don't have Mystic Knight either, so you may also want to take a look at our new/custom classes.

I really can't understand any reason why you would take Favored Soul for 5 levels, but going to go ahead and tell you it's a bad idea.

Your AB is far too low to get any use out of ICE.

Spell Casting Prodigy is a waste, your DC's will be really low, Luck of Hero's or something else. If you are going melee, don't try to be a caster too.

You may want to take a look at Comments Only's advice... Bard 26/X4 (X=Blackguard, Fighter, Divine Champion, Rogue, Whirling Dervish, Shadow Dancer or whatever else you prefer, depending on the style character you want to play) is going to be about the easiest thing to play and will be quite powerful even if you mess up the build a bit here and there. You can add in Storm Singer or Dissonant Chord if you want, but neither PRC really seems to bring anything to the RP you are going for.
