Water Dancer
I've been playing around with a build inspired by the Braavosi Water Dancers from GoT. I ended up with a rapier crit build SB(19)/WM(7)/R(4). Any suggestions? It seems okay to me though I've never made a SB before and I'm not sure how Insightful Strike and Combat Insight interact. Initially tried with Duelist in place of WM but this seems stronger.

Hmn... why not a Swashbuckler 20/Assasin 10?
As for Combat Insight and Insightful strike, the two stack. Insightful strike doesn't work against crit immunes though.
Improved Critical is a wasted feat.

Re: Water Dancer
From an accuracy perspective I think Duelist makes more sense then Weapon Master, but to each their own. If you are going for Weapon Master I think Whirling Dervish would be better than Rogue (you already have the feat requirement met).
If it were me, trying to build a Water Dancer I think I would go SB 14/Duelist 10/WD3/Monk 3 (assuming human). DEX/WIS/INT to AC is nice plus you get a bit of Monk speed and Dash from WD which I think makes sense for a Water Dancer.

Re: Water Dancer
Comments - no reason, I guess that would be very appropriate if I was making Arya specifically
Chad - Awesome, great synergies from WD! Monk is an interesting idea. I suppose they are an order of sorts, though I don't imagine them to be all that lawful.
Vale - I don't know! How good is duelist?
Edit: Pretty good! Now SB 17/D 10/WD 3

Re: Water Dancer
Quite good, it's gives you damage and you don't have to lower your DEX too much, you get AC too, the weakness of that build are mainly saves.

Re: Water Dancer
If you still wanted Weapon Master you might be able to fit SB14/Duelist 8/WM5/WD3. Duelist could be 7 and any one class can be increased a level.

Re: Water Dancer
Well having the imp evasion from WD and steadfast + UMD should help somewhat. The AB seems a little low.

WD gains evasion, it does not gain Improved Evasion:Hrafnar wrote:Well having the imp evasion from WD and steadfast + UMD should help somewhat. The AB seems a little low.

Re: Water Dancer
Are you solid sticking human?
I have a sb16/ wm5/temp5/duel4 build that uses ptwf ew ci. Good ab good ac good damage. Could sacrifice wm levels for more duel for more ac but I like the wm with ptwf. The build is a tie so would have to rp that. But I really like playing ties.

Re: Water Dancer
Remember that SB gets evasion at 16, I'm not sure these WD levels are needed.

Re: Water Dancer
I was thinking WD for skill focus... maybe bluff, tumble and parry. If going for feint and/ or one weapon feats.

Hmn...
How about Swashbuckler 19/Rogue 8/Shadowdancer 3? You would have 4d6 sneak attack, and 2d6 against critical hit immunity. (Thanks to Epic Precision from 12 levels of Swashbuckler.) You know, little extra to work with Expose Weakness. HiPS would be your way of tumbling out of the line of sight.
Another possibility could be to use Kukris and Dervish, since you could literally be dancing about with Dervish Dance.

Re: Water Dancer
Aaron - that's a good thought. I have no particular attachment to human though I would prefer to stick to one-handed fencing style.
Chad - I could build a good feinter here then? Would work well with tiefling.
Vale - Yes, I spotted that. Was trying to qualify for WM through WD but I couldn't take the latter earlier than lvl 13 so it didn't really pan out.
Comments - That seems like a good fit, actually. Epic precision at 12 does seem rather strong tbh!
