Re: Barbarian build
These days you get your weapon's Enchantment Bonus to damage twice when Northlander Hewing is active.aaron22 wrote:I had a perfect build for NH. I did a dpr comparison of it on and off. My dpr was exceedingly higher while I had it off and Ipa on. This was about 5 months ago and I am unsure if changes have been made, but I would much rather have Ipa as it clearly creates more damage on high bab toons.
Yeah, IPA tends to be better and deal more damage in most situations, however, Northlander Hewing is just a one feat. I would rather have an additional Extend Rage feat on my Barbarian. Not to mention how I often fight 'sword-and-board' just to increase my AC to levels where it can act as a pseudo immunity to critical hits... Thus I find myself very content with the choice of Northlander Hewing rather than taking IPA.
Now, if your build has fighter levels for the extra AB feats, then IPA will be the better choice. Those bonus feats to AB practically negate the IPA AB penalty.
But if you are Bard Gish, Arcane Gish, or high strength Barbarian/Paladin - then you too might really like Northlander Hewing.

Re: Barbarian build
You should use the feat gained on Barbarian 20 to get Epic Rage instead of Fast Healing. If I am not mistaken, Fist of the Forest constitution AC does not improve with constitution bonuses, it is just your base constitution. Hence you are better off wearing armor than being naked.

False!Comments Only wrote: If I am not mistaken, Fist of the Forest constitution AC does not improve with constitution bonuses, it is just your base constitution. Hence you are better off wearing armor than being naked.
This AC is retroactive and does not stack when polymorphed in any way. So getting a con boost from rage is infact worth it.
Moved the feats and stats around to accommodate for that epic rage suggestion

Re: Barbarian build
If that is the case, maybe that description should be changed.- AC Bonus: While unarmored, you gain a bonus to your dodge Armor Class equal to your Constitution bonus (if any). Only your base Constitution is used for this bonus (spell/item enhancements are not used). This bonus will not work while wildshaped.

I had a Fighter/Fist of the Forest/Monk/Shadowdancer, a strength based build, in the past.Akroma666 wrote:Thanks for bringing this to my attention Comments. Had no idea.
