Does anyone else feel the XP for those CR's seems lower than on the surface? I seem to remember the Duergar Compound mobs giving my level 20 PC ~ 21-25 XP / kill which seems rather low. Maybe I am mis-remembering.

Removed Compound adamantine throwing axe and added transition from Mistlake to Oghrann.

yea you have to remember drow are 2 levels higher

which has always been the base for the compliant that there are no real epic areas for the UD so if you look at cubicles list this means the two highest CR areas are for levels 22 and 24 but the 24 one being a drider map is a death wish solo and drider dont have a decent spawn rate either way

so really xp starts dying off after 22 and by the time you high like 26-27 (really 28-29) all the xp is like gone and those last few levels are done better by just quest grinding

of course assuming you are drow or other +2 ecl race

It used to be a surface area, and for a long time now Surface has had more areas to explore than the Underdark. Thus with complaints that Arcane Gishes and Divine EDM builds can solo everything thanks to their buffs, healing, and damage reduction. Thus in order to create a more balanced/challenging area to some, they introduced these duergar with Adamantine weaponry as an encouragement to bring some meat shields with you. Something like a Barbarian or a Dwarven Defender, to be precise.

that area is pretty rough, remove the door that says to "do not kite and aoe". that is pretty ooc thing there.

that area is well above cr - 20.

traps on chests do constant 200 divine dmg, 70 dmg fire orbs from the casters

The 2nd Drider area (CR26) are triggered spawns like the Compound. The xp there should be high enough all the way up to 30. I haven't tested it yet as a Drow though. Kind of wondering why more players aren't over there making phat gainz.

The mobs in the compound are roughly CR21. I'll take a look at the traps in the compound. I've been noticing some nasty traps lately as well.

I was soloing in that epic drider area a few days ago. It's pretty good except I don't know why 100% of the Greater Xorns have been given dispel magic. You never get any decent loot in those areas though so its only for XP grinding I guess.

well if there is only one and it has dispel magic then they will all have dispel magic :P

do they spawn a lot or something? either way to have a % less than 100 would require multiple blueprints which is usually never the case

even with orcs, if you have an orc raider, orc brute, and orc mystic thats still only one blueprint for each one so if the mystic has dispel they will all have it

There should only be Drider spawns in the 2nd Drider area (UD_Wilds 2). Do you remember the name of that area, Tsid?

Actually I think they might be a summon by the drider mages? I'll head back down there later because I can't remember the exact area name either.

Hurray!

I was in that area with my level 20 drow, it's tough but definitely can be done with 2-3 member groups. Solo is hard. Not having all my buffs taken away will make a big difference.

I noticed a beholder in the Underdark: Wilds area. Party balanced in terms of lvls. Ofc it stripped all wards immediately on everyone... but I noticed that it gave less xp than a drider? When I say less, I mean 50% less. It was not coloured any differently and I would have thought that a lone beholder should at least be a mini-boss, or give the same amount of xp. Not less. :|

That's just a bit of a minor thing I noticed. If you wanna call beholders minor.
