yes it did however you have to realize that lets say those drider are CR 25, the beholder that spawns was probably only CR 5 or 10

the CR 20 or 30 beholder would probably kill you near instantly, the CR 30 one there is no fighting it, its just death

luna let me play with that one, wanted me to help test it and i was like sure let me buff up some and luna's response was "LOL i dont think its gonna matter but ok" - first ray attack was complete dispel, knockdown, petrification and some other stuff then the second ray attack had the death ray

but i asked luna about the beholders before, they are suppose to have a very rare spawn rate, they do not see through invis tho so if you are gonna take it on you have to get close and hope you kill it in a hit or two

For a while there the Beholder in the Gnoll cave had the petrify spell. It was horrid. Especially for the level at which most people go down there at it was pretty much a guaranteed fugue trip.

Yes, beholders are a rare spawn in the 'low' Drider area (CR 21). They have hardly any HP though; the first time I encountered one I killed it with only two hits. Then I slunk away to a quiet area to rest as I had no buffs to reapply after they were all destroyed by the antimagic ray

I've not encountered beholders in the CR 26 area. Yet.

Interesting

Explains the low xp then. I wondered at first if a DM was toying with us because the xp difference was so large.

I know which beholder you're talking about. Like they said, it is a rare spawn there. Though it can be modified, I actually want to do something with the 1st Wilds area. It's way too big atm and I doubt anyone regularly uses it outside of the quest there.

Think I'm going to upgrade the CR in Oghranns, since it's such an awesome area. What CR would you guys like to see there, or is CR20 okay as is?

Maybe bump it up to CR 25? Also, when you update the Eastern Wilds, don't forget to also include one of Vazsyne's corpses in that.

There's already 10 corpses around the UD (including one in the Eastern Drider Wilds already). If anything there should be more in low level areas because at the moment lowbies only really have a chance at recovering 3-4 of them (Varallas, Mushroom Grove, River Rift, maybe another one in the new upperdark lowbie areas)

Tsidkenu, He is speaking about editting the Eastern Drider wilds, and only mentioned the one quest.

Have to agree the low level areas could use some more corpses... Haven't even found one to be honest :D.

Submitted more corpses.

Just an FYI, the corpse quest xp will change in the next update. And a fix was already submitted for the quest issues down there. With so many incoming corpses, it'll be nice to not have to search for corpses as much. Soon, players will be able to find a corpses here and there while they grind.

Also submitted Oghrann CR update. Ruins will be CR25 and the Great Halls will be CR25-26. Should be a nice spot for endgame content for both UD/Surface.

I wouldn't mind having the boss Beholder in the UD. They have white dragon up top, so I'd take something ultimately deadly down below.
