Cursed scrolls?

Unread post by amber91 »

Happened to pick up a cursed scroll of "Mass Lesser Vigor" that I can't use, trade, or drop, just occupying a precious inventory slot.

Any tips on how to get rid of the curse or the item?

Can a cleric/fvs do anything about it for me?
Or, if someday, I have enough UMD to use scrolls of Remove Curse, would I be able to purge it myself? (not sure how the whole curse thing works)

Thanks for any tips!

All of those are perfectly viable options.
A scroll of Remove Curse is easiest.
Finding a cleric/fvs/wizard with Remove Curse is most fun :-)

Note that the cursed scroll remains as a junk item after curse removal and does not revert back to the scroll it purported to be.

I don't know if I have a negative Wis modifier IRL but I'm going to try to test this out now.

To make this more clear cast the spell on yourself not the scroll :)

Both should work. But I believe Tsid is referring to casting a cursed scroll. And I'm not sure if a healthy dose of curiosity is the same as a low wisdom IRL :-P They might go hand in hand ;-)

Done it.

Was a Doom scroll.

Performed perfectly.
Doomed the target, not the caster.

Gimme a cursed Weird to try out.

I last tried with a cursed scroll of Fireball. It did... nothing! In fact it became a 1/day Fireball VFX clicky because the scroll resets its charge after resting. I know some cursed items do other effects as well, but I'll let you discover what some of those are
