And i wil never forget how you came to say hello and see whats up when me and a few others where masked up on the bridge and let us do our thing.

Over the years I've mainly only have positive experiences with Mac. We've in rare times been at odds, but that will happen between adults. I support him entirely same as mister O on the sigil server who is semi-retired.

I am not attacking Mac, or saying he is a bad guy. What I am disagreeing with / being hostile towards is the system in place, if Endy comes forward and admits we have too many rules then that is a sign something is amiss. At the end of the day, they reperent the system, they put themselfs in that box. That does not mean I hate or am attacking them. Think of it this way; if you worked for a company that had terrible regulations -- that does not make you a bad person, but it does make you accounatable for the regulations at hand.

If the system has holes in it, that is no fault of mine. Look at the damage things like this will (and will continue) to do -- because I have no doubt this will happen again, and tell me the issues at hand were handled perfectly.

This whole affair could have been handled better, and in my view - avoided. I have argued so many times about how destructive / Bias our democracy can be and for the longest time *wanted* so badly to try and make things better and the first step I believe is seeing the time bomb that can go off, as it has today.

The damage does not end here. For the events these DMs had arranged, will slowly die out -- team moral will be low and the community (as it was put) will result to a them vs us mentailly. Things like this do not help. That is why I make such a fuss, that is why I kick up such a rage because *we* are a strong community, if only the staff comminicated more and was open to change this server could be so much more.

We will recover.

Yet, a new DM will come on (as they always do) and eventually this bomb will happen again. It is a circle that will never end, I want it to stop. I do not wish to drag the admin or HDM team through the mud, the system in place is doing that -- not me.

Hera was a good DM. She and Lobo and Creo don't deserve to be let go. Differing opinions are a good thing. Someone who speaks differently on matters is a necessity to have a full conversation. If you silence someone because they have a different opinion you deny yourself and those around the right to hear what they have to say. Being heard is as important a right as being allowed to listen. People don't always get along but you can still work at it.

I'm not really one for posting on the forums, as I'm sure my post count (that I can't see atm) attests to. I prefer to talk directly to people.

As any of us who have played this game, or the first one, over the years knows there have been amazing DMs in the different PWs. I've had the pleasure of playing with some great DMs, DMs who specialize in spicing up seemingly normal runs, DMs who handled grand server wide stories and events, so on and so forth.

But, in all my years I've never run across a DM that wove such intricate stories as Hera did. It seemed like every time Ankhet and Kyot pulled one thread, three more came loose and we had to decide which way to leap to attempt to keep on top of situations. Go a couple months down the line of doggedly following the threads and you invariably find out that everything was tied together, in one way or another. It was amazing and I couldn't wait for our scheduled events. I knew it'd be a blast, usually in more than one way, and I couldn't wait for the meat to get one more puzzle piece. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count how many times LO and I debated just what in the hell was really going on.

While I'm obviously not privy to what goes on in DMland, as far as I've observed, Hera should have been made a full DM to untie her hands with NPCs. Hell, she's the reason I stuck around as long as I did.

I'm really sorry to see you go. I loved the personal touches you put into things and how you tied all of your things together for those of us who were in multiple storylines or pieces there of. You were always encouraging of people to get involved, and brought many folks into RP with each other that would not have otherwise seen or chatted.

I'm hoping you'll appeal and come back, but if you don't, I understand. I wish you the best.

This thread was reported, but as a mod I think it best to leave it open as long as everyone remains constructive and pleasant. Sometimes the uncomfortable conversations are the ones needed to keep a healthy community. If fingers are pointed at individuals (especially a guy like Maecius), I will lock it in a hearbeat.

That said, as a former DM who was removed under.. chaotic.. circumstances, I can understand frustration, hurt, betrayal, and the other range of emotions you go through.

My only advice would be to take a break if needed, then come back and be an active player. Drive RP from the player side. Engage players in a healthy manner from the player side. I've been around a very long time and these days more than any, I think, players disregard their power of RP'd action. DMs are there to assist, not steer the ship. Come back and collaborate as a player. The server desperately needs that right now.

I haven't been on for quite some time now, due to lack of enthusiasm to play, and I don't think I will be. I've got a lot of good memories of this place, in no small part due to the recently departed DMs. So I would just like to say thank you to those who put time and effort into helping people have a good time. I'm not going to add fuel to the fire, I'm not going to say 'I told you so'. I've seen this sort of stuff happen countless times before, and I'm not going to expend much more time and energy on it.

So a big thank you to all the people that departed and poured their hearts into this place, and all the people I've created stories with, together. Sad to say that all that used to draw me to this place, is now absent.

I said this to you already, but posting here mostly as a show of support. For those that don't know, DM Hera came to the server with a lot of enthusiasm and questions. I answered some of those for her via tells in game and then through PM's over the past months. While I never interacted with her as a DM other than to get assistance with QC testing or things like that, I think I have interacted with her over the forums discussing various mechanics, potential changes and the like than perhaps any other two DM's combined. Anywho...

It's unfortunate that you were removed from your position as DM, I know you took more personal joy out of DM'ing than playerside and certainly spent far more of your time at it. I would be lying if I said I wasn't sad for you on that front. However, I do look at this as an opportunity for you to spend more time doing things playerside that can also be a great deal of fun. As Planehopper said, it is also my hope that perhaps after a break you will find your way back here and enjoy just playing the game with those who you enjoy playing with.

While we did not always fall on the same side of any given argument (ok, more often than not we spent dozens of PM's refuting each others arguments ad nauseum...), but I always respected where you were coming from, even when we disagreed. I also appreciated greatly that I could have a discourse with you and always knew that I could count on you to take it for what it was, two sides of a story that, while perhaps counter to each other, both still had merit in their own right.

If you do decide to leave the server for good, you can always feel free to PM me and talk about whatever... PnP, our kids, or what have you. Even if you don't, I wish you and your family nothing, but the best success and happiness. Fair winds and safe travels, wherever life leads you!
