Poisons don't really work?

Unread post by amber91 »

TraderJane wrote:I just started trying out applying poison to weapons (lvl 2 assassin) on swords.

Why is it that any poison that I apply seems to have only the Feeblemind(3) effect?
Is that right?

I was trying out:

"Advanced Sleep Poison": dc20, 1st: sleep 1d3 rounds, 2nd: sleep 1d3 rounds, injury (slash/pierce)

"The Void Poison": dc20, Blind/Deaf, injury (slash/pierce)

Both seem to only produce the Feeblemind(3) effect
Poisons don't seem to work as advertised, at least the effects they have don't seem to work properly on monsters/npcs.

Their dc and effects do not match what the poison description says...

Do they only work on players?

Anyone with experience in poisons speak to how to use them, and if their effects in the description actually work?

Thanks

Something in one of the updates broke the Ombras poison system about 14 months ago and they've been bugged since. Ingestion style poisons don't even work any more as well.

 was my first reaction since I thought I fixed the system a few months ago but ... fixing the starting conditions was not enough because somehow the poisons were indeed all tied to Feeblemind

Probably a leftover of some testing ages ago, that should be solved next update. As for ingestion poison it is fixed too.

Too much credit, changing a 19 into a 151 isn't particulary difficult :P

Changing the 19 into a 151 is worth $1.

Knowing where to find that 19 and change it to 151 is worth $9,999.

Not enough credit there Vale. You are a bad ass man.

That's awesome news!

Will the fix work on existing stocks of poisons we already have, or do we need to rebuy/replace them?

And when you say "next update" how often or when is that scheduled?

Thank you very much!

Existing poisons will work no problem, as for when the next update will happen no one can tell, shortly :)

I'm rubbish with 2da's and coding in general, but my guess is "19" applies Feeblemind while "151" is poison (aptly named since 151 Rum will knock you on your arse, if you ask me!) :geek:
