Heroes and Villains RP & PVP Club?

So, Every Batman Needs A Joker, Every Sherlock a Moriarty, and Jedi a Sith; correct?

Truth of the matter is that every good story has both a protagonist and an antagonist. Every hero needs a villain and every villain needs a hero. I know this would kind of go hand in hand with the PVP fan club, but it's singing a different tune all together as well.

My idea is thus, when creating a character and giving them a back story, something has to set them on the adventuring path. Now, there are exceptions, but in most of the epic fantasy novels no one just decides to go out and fight monsters for a living. Normally something ends up spurring the protagonist into the adventure's life. Some big bad route's them from their home and shoves them out on the road.

I want this club to be a place that can help create those nemesis type rivalries. Like say Ridd-ick and the bounty hunter Johns, Batman and Joker, Green arrow and Death Stroke, the classic rivalries of media and literature that we as players can have fun with and not need to rely on the DM team to create events for own own player hooks.

This is only an idea that I had at work today. I was curious if anyone else would be interested in something like this.

The way and reason I post in the Windspell Adventurers' Guild thread, is exactly so that other Characters—with whatever agenda—could get involved.

I've suggested many times that if a Player wanted to place a Character or a Character's actions against what the Windspells are doing, I'd be completely open to that random or not-so-random influence.

Our group is still between Levels 8–11, and it would be appreciated that if you wish to bring conflict against our group, consider it with a PC that is somewhat equal with our range.

While i definitely agree Xan, this is more along the lines of a character roleplay situation.

Aaron, these would be perfect for my dwarf characters, Recognized by the clan name Fire-Stone. They are currently levels 6 and 16.

Working on the bio for the whole clan.

Also, i have a certain thief, lvl 18 who should have at least two bounty hunters looking for him.

My second character isn't necessarily a villain anymore, but she's been compared to Harley Quinn.

And I'm making another character, a halfling with pigtails. She will use a bat, and her name will be Quarley Hinn. She'll be a villain.

I like the PVP club idea.
We could draw up new (and proper ) set of pvp rules and name the club. Then we each put the name of the club in our bios- so that any member of the club with its name in our bios have to obey said new pvp rules.

The Heroes and Villains RP portion of the club could be tricky. If we have a club that includes both sides of the conflict it could create to much metagaming. I would like a 'group' of antagonists that could plot acts to give the heroes something to do. But if we involve both sides too much it becomes too....I cant think of the word- prescribed? fake?

Maybe 1 club with two sub groups: evil/chaos and good/law (neutrals can join either side or maybe flip-flop). The evil/chaos plots various deeds and the good/law tries to find out whats happening and try to stop it....

I, like a lot of evil people...er, players...have a difficult time being evil- but its not totally impossible. For it to work, cooperation between players is key. I think if we get a number of us together as some sort of ooc meta faction we can create a system where we can really create some fun and fair conflict RP/pvp.

First rule of Conflict/pvp club is all members need a thick skin- no complainers ((you can complain and argue but you can not cry to mommy and daddy for every minor deed that doesnt make you the special delicate flower you are)).

I agree, and it would be great if things happened more naturally, or at all, even.

But the reality is 99% of RP comes from a base OOC setup. There is no "start at Lvl 1 and we'll grow in experience based on actual IG experiences." A PC is often planned out, and though actual IG experiences do lead to minor and major Character development, it is just as likely that the places and ways our OOC friends are RPing will determine how and where we RP.

Thus, for sake of ACTUAL MANIFESTATION of interesting and dedicated protagonist/antagonist RP, let's work together by establishing identities and interest BOTH with IC and OOC interaction.

That said, I would love nothing more than to know there is 1 PC out there with opposite goals and desires as my guy Caed Wynter-Rose, and, that they are ACTUALLY aware of and interacting with each other, directly or indirectly.

Maybe that is a lot to ask, and it would be awesome if something like that could be asked of a DM, but I think it wouldn't manifest (although I did create something of this sort especially for the Whistling Wanderess crew, and as well, worked "behind the scenes" to keep a pro/any setup for the Zhentarim/Radiant Heart Guilds, when I was a DM...and I even escaped those nasty labels of favoritism! ).

So, I can only ask of other Players to consider if their interests lie in the OOC setup of a foundation that would lead to deep RP heroes & villain experiences.

Oh...and later, this summer, I look forward to providing my own "antagonist" Character and RP, for the willing to play the protagonist. I'm working out an angle with DM currently, that should not relegate the experience to a bubble, but have some "worldly" relevance.
