Okay. But Cavestalker WILL progress Wildshape uses.
Would it make sense for Hierophant to also progress uses, in the manner that it progresses Turn Undead?

Cavestalker will progress shapes/day. As for Hierophant doesn't it give enough perks like that ? It doesn't need shape progression, make a few sacrifices !

Of course!Valefort wrote:Cavestalker will progress shapes/day. As for Hierophant doesn't it give enough perks like that ? It doesn't need shape progression, make a few sacrifices !
But I'm just searching to see if these are intentional aspects or just aspects that were not thought of, yet.
It's like Turn Undead progression...why? Like you say, Hierophant already gives amazing perks, even to Undead Turning, so why also progression?
So, if Hierophant is such a gift to Turner Clerics, why isn't it equally helpful to Wildshape Druids?
And then, if be default it cannot progress Shapes or even Wildshape use, how about added PrC Feat, that DOES progress shape or just shape use? Much like the PrC Feat allowing animal companion progression?
Cheers.

Re: Does Hierophant progress Druid Shape?
What use are the TU perks of the Hierophant if there is no TU progression?
Because mechanically the Turners could use some help with their situational ability against undead. Wildshaped druids do not need any.Steve wrote:So, if Hierophant is such a gift to Turner Clerics, why isn't it equally helpful to Wildshape Druids?

I am not asking to give Wildshaped Druids MORE power when wildshaped! I can agree that you want pure Druids to remain the most powerful shifters, but with Cavestalker progressing uses, why not Hierophant, since the PrC is about this:Mastery of Energy
Type of Feat: Class Ability
Prerequisites: Hierophant 1
Specifics: Available only to hierophants with cleric levels, this ability allows a hierophant to channel positive or negative energy much more effectively, increasing his ability to affect undead. Add a +4 bonus to the hierophant’s turning checks and turning damage rolls. This ability affects other creatures than undead if the hierophant can turn other creatures, such as with a domain power.
Use: Automatic
Hierophants are higher members of clergy and druidic circles who decide to temporarily forgo gaining the highest levels of divine magic in order to concentrate on the mastery of what they already possess.

Re: Does Hierophant progress Druid Shape?
If Hierophant did progress uses, would their be a reason to go deeper as a druid, once you take cave stalker? What's the benefit of D20/CS10 over D10/CS10/H10 (Or whatever minimum druid level gives the shape you want)?

Yes, let's address this!chad878262 wrote:If Hierophant did progress uses, would their be a reason to go deeper as a druid, once you take cave stalker? What's the benefit of D20/CS10 over D10/CS10/H10 (Or whatever minimum druid level gives the shape you want)?
Druid 12 gives plant/dire shapes. Druid 16 gives Elemental. Druid 20 gives elder Elemental. So if you want to be a Shifter, D12 is a minimum, I'd say. You'd need to go Druid 20 / Cavestalker 6 / Hierophant 4 in prefer to get CL 32. But I'd probably choose Cavestalker 4 /Hierophant 6.
